Vino winning is totally gold
This guy is a great character, though has a rather checkered history, with drug suspension, plus a year or two back there are claims that he won a big one day race by offering the rider that he was leading with a bribe to allow him to win. So I'm wondering what the pay off was to Uran yesterday. So much for amateur sports hehe.
If you want amateur sports don't look at the Olympics, they are all pros. every sport right down to ping pong. (table tennis).

Olympic cycling hasn't been amateur since before WW2.
I'm not sure cycling was ever amateur at the Olympics.

Didn't the amateur get wiped out over their soccer and our baseball, and everyone's basketball,
if I remember correctly. It's a real shame.
We should take the nations out of the Olympics.
Let it be qualifying teams and individuals.
Will they ban bikinis for the female Beach Volleyball players.

Although we'll no longer have miracles like the American hockey win by a bunch of amateurs over the Soviet Union professionals, since all their athletes were professionals, I have no problem with professional sportsmen participating in the Olympics. It should be a competition of the BEST, and the best are professionals. We had no choice about it, unless we wanted to pit our amateurs against professionals.
Hell, we watch professional football, professional basketball, professional baseball, etc. Why should the Olympics be any different?

Just another, Lost Freedom!
How do you figure its a lost freedom, the site was the BBC so why should they care if we get to see it?
NBC is showing about 15 hours of coverage a day, that not enough for you?
