So, I went to the doctor... and ... no signs of apnea!

I had the same issues and the doctor discovered that I had deviated septum. After the surgery, I no longer snored and I now sleep much better than before. (Also I haven't head a cold ever since.) You should go to an ears, nose and throat specialist. The GPs typically don't know much.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 3 years ago. I dealt with the problem by obtaining a CPAP machine through my medical aid insurance. Quite expensive little machine. It also helped a lot.

One month ago (4th September) I was operated on by my ENT. He removed my uvula, tonsils and a septoplasty (straightening of cartilage in the nose) to increase the opening of my nose.

My sleep apnea is now cured, for now at least. :-)

I had a septoplasty too, last year, and it helped me to sleep well though out the night, without snoring. Plus I did not have any head colds since.

Wow!

I never heard good stuff from septoplasty procedures.

One ENT I knew would say, "Only God can make a good septum".

Girls would complain of shifting after about a year. This was back in the '70's, 80's, time.

Did they change anything in the procedure to improve the outcomes?

M.O.T.'s have lots of septoplasties. Especially the blond ones. 😄
