I have learned to accept that "you just can't fix stupid".

You are so right, Pink, are you looking? Elizabeth is right on.

Right she may be, I'd still like to be able to visit the chatroom without facing a single "you're a guy" comment. This is the EA, not "sexchatroomforstupidstraightpeople.com"

So ignore the comments, or call them out by saying what you just said, then report them to the moderator(s).

Well... first a bit of moslty on-topic humor http://xkcd.com/322/...

And second, from my experience in EA chatroom, just ignoring or politely saying "not interested", usually works. I have not been bothered enough yet, to turn sarcasm generator on. May be that was cause I got only "what are you into?" and similar comments.

During my days on our provider's network IRC, I had a script, that automatically closed any incoming private chat, with message like "Queen is busy right now. Your message will be ignored. If you really want to talk, ask for that in public channel".

But you see, I want to be treated like a human being, I want not to be judged before I've said a few lines, so I extend how I wish to be treated, to how I treat others. I don't make assumptions and ignore incoming messages. I try to give everyone a fair chance to strike up a conversation. Is that wrong? Do unto others as you wish them to do unto you. That is all I am trying to do.

I just think of the fun I could have pursuing the question if they are real men or just wannabes.... run with it...

I do understand you wish. But what should one do with the lack of politeness or patience to strike a proper conversation?

Golden rule is all good, when all follow it.

In my case that script was used against one person, who was a general nuisance in PM.

PS. I love Kristoff's solution.
