Yes she will bite them!!!!!!!..(or at least try to cuz I prevent her)....All this was made possible bc my mom pampered her like no tommorow and she is very hostile to strangers.

Un doing it is now impossible. The dog is 4 yrs of age now.

shock collars, judiciously used, can work wonders.

Does she like liver?

have your friends get on the floor eye level if you will, you see little dogs have a tendency to be scared of people, have them give your dog a little liver treat, see if that will give you that break through.

Nelly was 6 yrs when I got her and she was the same way, Rat Terrier, same problem. BTW it does take work but your little one may come through this in flying colors. Nelly now greets everybody at the door truly believing that they came to see her, once she realizes that its OK and they are in the house.

Servals have been used in breeding programmes with ordinary housecats. Actual servals cannot safely be kept. Dik Diks are almost too fragile from home care. If you go through and read what people have tried, or are trying, to keep in their homes as "pets" the list is somewhat frightening. Just now the State of Florida is facing a crisis in the Everglades where people have abandone Burnese Pythons that simply got too big for their homes. The numbers of these snakes in the Everglades has now reached such a size that they are catching, killing and destroying indigenous species. Certain people will anthropomorphize anything and then we get to situations such as the "pet" Chimp in Connecticut who ripped a woman's face off. People, for whatever reason, feel their prestige is enhanced by having an animal, potentially dangerous, living in their homes. It's never a good idea and never will be. I suppose it's possible you could fool around with the genetics so that say, a lion, did become just a big pussy cat but...that lion will still have lion sized claws and teeth and a "playful" nip could go right to the bone. Read back where I write that my guardian had to stitch me up and this was just the result of ""playing" with the very young of the species.

Equally, I don't understand why anyone would have a pot bellied pig, a capybara or a llama as a pet but they do. Let us remember one of the very well trained perfroming bears, one that even appeared on talk shows...one day he reverted and ate his trainer.

The beagle rolled in a puddle of diesel fuel under the neighbors' tractor.

He had to have a bath. The 2nd in as many days. It was a fight the whole way.

The Belgian went looking for his running partner,the neighbors' beagle who usually lives here, too, and she's locked up pending flea/worm treatment. They were having a BBQ, and he was confronted with little toddlers. One of them screamed "DOGGIE!" and ran for him with open arms. He ran for the hills, tail tucked. Now they're shooting fireworks, and he's in the house hiding and cowering.

The Walker pup said 'hell with it' and went to sleep on the porch. Nothing bothers him - except the king snake he got in a fight with on the way back from the walk. The snake won.

Now, it's time for dinner.

I'll give a shock collar a try. I really don't have the cash to enroll my dog to a dog academy. Iv'e heard of the physical abusive techniques some of these institutions employ and

I'd rather not go to that extend to train my dog.

We worried one time 2 yrs ago when our chihuahua almost bit a toddler(we would have had to put our dog to sleep had it happened) on the leg and that is why we keep her inside the house. I do take her for walks but again the sight of a stranger gets her yapping, bitching, tugging at the leash. She really wants a nip from somebody's flesh. Ugh.......she's psychotic.

NB = I advise people to not buy these critters, they are very territorial.

My friend in BC has better luck trainning a "fennec fox" compared to a chihuahua.And theyre both roughly the same size. Fennecs being smaller and have smaller teeth. As they are insect and fruitarians--------feeding them a fricken expensive

Do not feed fennecs junk foood, lol I have no idea why this owner gave them this

It's so nice to be loved, isn't it?

We had to get a cattle prod to keep the pit bulls from killing each other and they were from the same litter.

Sounds bad but it works. It was cheaper than shock collars and you only had to buy one.

Lots of pet stores will rent collars by the week.
