I got on wikimapia and identified both of them:
The left one:
MiG-17 (

The right one:
MiG-15UTI, two seat trainer (

Photo lies somewhere in the depths of my hard disk drive, if you still need it, I can find it.
Ah thank you so much. The 2 seater was confusing me. I wanted to satisfy my curiousity, but now that it's been satisfied I don't think I ought trouble you to go on a digital archaeological exploration of your HD drive

When I decided it was time to add an avatar to my Archive presence, and recognizing it being wise for me to avoid any sort of copyright infringement, I put an abstract acrylic painting I made long ago on a scanner, trimmed the scan to a small portion of the scanned portion of the painting, and used that small portion as my avatar.
Being abstract, I am willing to allow that it may mean anything to anyone; however, in my mind, it is, and is only, an abstract representation of an aspect of genuine decency. The painting, as a whole is of an abstract impression of the inner structure of the singularity of existence prior to the purported "big bang"; it is an impression of what banged, if anything did.
Perchance, is the "law of non-contradiction" (something cannot be what it isn't) the limit boundary of what may exist within a dimensionless singularity?
I do surely hope that my avatar is not inappropriate.

Janekane's rather reminds me of the French Air Force roundel.

I always saw Janekane's as an eye, not that the line below it really fits in to that.
As for mine, I just hope that it still remains acceptable, given that I am you know...naked

Actually now that you've mentioned an eye, the line does fit. Here's how:

Dam it! I should have known that I could not have been that clever!
I am not really a Halloween fan, but I must say thanks for tricking me. I consider it a treat

Were there complaints that caused the avatar change.?????My wife would peak over my shoulder when I was typing on the forum and she was always offended by some and aroused by others.
Since the change no more comments.

The line "Nuke a Gay Baby Whale for Jesus" was retrieved from a bumper sticker on a junky VW rabbit. I suspect it was covering a bad rust patch. It is good to know what the other sisters were singing. I'll adopt it in full for future use. It will stay.
Aside from a number of remarks over offensiveness about select avatars, many people have commented about the fact that they frequently inhabit the Archive while at work. We want to accomodate the need to not worry as much about pics being seen. OTOH, if you are viewing the personals at work, do so at your own risk; and remember, many companies review internet useage. A big reason we are extending this beyond our past practices, we have been inviting a lot of academics to read and research us. Many were met and reached out to at the WPATH conference held in Atlanta recently, where we drew quite a crowd to our panel on M-to-E and BIID. We want to draw in and keep these people in our camp, since many of them can influence the acceptance of M2E and BIID, recommending surgeries, etc. We're still working with a number of them to get eunuchism specifically mentioned in the supplements and indexes of the SOC 7.0. So there you have it.
BTW, I really like A-1's new avatar. Very creative.

There were lots of complaints periodically over a period of years. It wasn't an unreasonable request by the EA.
Not that I don't miss my golden boy but to be honest, it was a flight of ego, completely and utterly a flight of ego. I'll find other ways to stroke my ego.
