Are we really letting anti-trans people like that in to the EA just because they happen to have a castration fetish?

A lot of people can really learn from this lady.

She is now undergoing pioneering medical research with doctors in Cambridge who hope that one day they will find out exactly what her condition is, and devise treatment that will stop her legs from growing.

My favourite line? Her reason for seeking treatment to stop her leg from growing: “But not so I look different, I don’t mind the way I look, I like it! But just for health reasons really.”

A true paragon of the non-superficial attitude, that this lady does not feeling her physical appearance detracts from who she is as a person, and that if it wasn't a health issue she'd be perfectly willing and able to live with her physical appearance.

Punky..

A lot of it is from ' vanity '. Its all that is seen on the Tube, whats stressed or implied in commercials..

' Soap Operas ' earned the title of such because ( or so its said ) when they became popular, the majority of advertisers were ' soap ' vendors. The Ads were directed towards the housewives as the ' men ' were usually working. The Ads were about products used around the house for the most part.

Today, theres much to do in advertising about vanity-type items. Its about whiter teeth, hair care, clothing styles, ' sexual enhancers '..

Very few out there are as you stated here :

Everyone would love to loose or gain a few pounds, have better teeth, grow their hair back.. The list is long and *most* of us are guilty in some shape or form of having these thoughts.

I dont think it makes us ' bad people ' but these thoughts can become obsessive and detract a person from actually being themselves or ' who ' they really are.

rom actually being themselves or ' who ' they really are.

I think as far as applying a modicum of vanity to ourselves, that might still be understandable if not acceptable. What I see as a more pressing issue is people applying superficial criterias to OTHERS. On what basis does anyone have for that, other than to show how illogical or poorly utilised their minds are? Afterall we do not give in to our every impulse as a civilised society, especially if one's impulse is likely to hurt others, so there simply is no justification for people saying "that is how I am" and refusing to change the way they behave.

As a matter of principle if people who're superficial need not try to be better even though it unfairly hurts others, then people with a violent streak need not change themselves either or take medication to make them less violent. Who is to say that physical harm is more serious or hurtful than psychological harm anyway? We're against tangible harm such as physical harm but society seems to prefer to turn a blind eye towards what we can't see.... whether it is inner beauty, or psychological harm.
