The problem starts a bit earlier. Let's rewind back to SovUnion times, say late 80-s. SovUnion was, as you see from it's name a union of republics. The economics was common for them all. Smaller ones were not self sufficient, but they complemented each other. Was it bad or good, and wherever that economics worked properly I can not say. I am too young for this, and who I am to judge. Anyway it is not the point.

Now move forward to 1991. The separation of SovUnion. It was okay for bigger countries like Russia, but smaller ones of Ex SovUnion suffered from that, and local chaos started. Add here local wars and you get the picture.

Move forward some years, say to year 2000. Compare relative prosperity and possibility of getting jobs and money in Russia, with local problems in southern respublics. That started a wave of immigration (legal and illegal). As we know, with local level of corruption, illegal immigration is a big "feeder" for local police. But even this way it looks cheaper to hire illegals than locals, at least for unqualified labor.

Discrimination? I do not know. May be.

But dislike is mutual. And immigrants and locals cultures are different, leading to one more reason for dislike.

Hope that what I wrote is readable and understandable. Should have thought it out a bit better. May be I'll rewrite it.
