I can see them, see what they write, they see me, and send messages, but anything I send goes nowhere. If I type something that would get a response, like !rules or hey count, or whatever, there is no response. ????

I have to know your nick name you are using to be able to help you more.

bobbie, I tried the email address you provided in your post(chemeuch @ yahoo.com) and it seems its undeliverable. Anywhoo, I will just post my message here.

When I attempt to log into the chat with the handle "Lasander" I get

the following message.

Unable to connect : java.security.AccessControlException : access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission getProtectionDomain)

A brief look at Sun's and IBM's sites and it seems that error is a

complicated mess... If I were to use a different IRC client how would I

go about doing that?

First the email is chemeunuch@yahoo.com You had chemeuch

Sorry about having connection problems.

The message does not look like a problem on the serer end.

I would try to remove java and reinstall it. Your fire wall could be preventing a connection.

You can try other IRC programs to connect. The java program from the message board does have problems in keeping connections. Many use the program from mIRC Website mirc.com They offer a free trial. See if that helps.

The connection settings for our server are

Server darkstar1.tzo.com

Port 6667

Sorry for the problems.

What you say looks like a install problem with IE 9. I know people that use it with out any problems. ( I do not use IE )

Where do you get the error? Do you get to the sign on screen for the chat room?

Let me know what you get.

As of 8/22/2011 you may have trouble getting into the chat room,

Change your address from darkstar1.tzo.com to eachat.hopto.org

this should solve the problem

Can log into the chat room but my posts and pm's apparently don't show up. If I type !rules, for example, nothing happens so I know it's not registering that I'm inputting text onto the board. Was trying to access through the archive site using Java but then downloaded Colloquy and logged in through the IRC client, but same thing happened. Trying to log in as NoPleasure. I tried logging in using a different name just to see if that would change anything but had the same problem. I tried emailing Bobbie at the yahoo address listed above but it bounced back. Tried sending a private message through the board as well. Any suggestions for how I can get back into chat?
