It's 21 January 2012 and I've seen 18 hours of presidential inauguration coverage so I decided to watch Nick-2's playing of THE LAST AIRBENDER and after ten minutes --

IT'S AS BAD AS PAULO SAYS

After that much politics, I wanted a diversion... I thought this might be but... I was wrong...

Not to go through the whole thing again, the cartoon got it so much better and was better written.

As a HUGE fan of the original Nickelodeon series, I'm glad that you all are able to recognize just how badly M. Night screwed this up. On most other boards that I've visited, people immediately started saying that the whole idea was dumb, and said things like "I'm really glad I never watched this crappy show now" after seeing the movie. Which is completely inaccurate, because I really believe that the original "Avatar: the Last Airbender" is one of the absolute best American animated shows to come out in the last decade. So thanks for being able to appreciate the greatness of the original story.

I never saw the TV show, but I can only say that being reminded of the movie after all this time is like having an almost vanished scar torn open.
