I'm reading the EA for years, nothing more but this hacker changed my mind just a bit to provide a possible "solution"...

Did you ever consider moving the chat to I2P? Maybe there's a way to host a backup of the EA there if the hole site comes repeatedly under attack e.g. DDoS...

Ok folks, I have something up and running that may work, but before I try to open it up to everyone, I want to get a handful of volunteers to help beta test it. Anyone interested can message me for access information.

I admit. I'm VERY surprised. I thought there was more demand to get the chat room back than this. To date, I've gotten precisely ONE volunteer to help test out the new room.

Until I can get more people willing to come in and check it out so I can see what kind of load it puts on the server, and that kind of thing, I will not be opening it up to the general public.

You want it back? It's out of my hands now, its all up to you folks.
