Apparently a whole bunch of people are enjoying the movie.

Oh no! Though Richard was in many ways irresponsible, he was a far better general than Philip, and the decline of Angevin fortunes does not commence until John. Richard lost none of his territories in France. Anjou was lost in 1214, Richard died in 1199 and in fact Richard is buried there. The Aquitaine and Normandy were lost later. At the time of his death, Richard was successfully defending the Vexin, the strategic border between Normandy and Francien, which he received as dowry for Alice, Philip's sister, whom he failed to marry; rather than lose land to the French, he acquired more than Henry II and Eleanor had bequeathed. Though John gets a bad rap, he in fact was responsible for the decline of the Angevin empire.
