Well I am very surprised I feel great. I think if I had a desk job I could return to work tomorrow, maybe even today. Due to the fact I do a lot of lifting over my head I don't think it would be a good idea. I tried to talk my urologist into a local anesthetic one last time but my urologist was against it so I let it go.

The last thing I remember was having the anesthetic injected into my IV and several minutes later saying no I don't feel sleepy and then I was back in post op and every thing was done. It took me 3 hours to get my O2 back up where it should have be so I didn't get released for 4 hours after my surgery. When I got home everything felt pretty good, except for the dry mouth and frequent urination (they gave me 3 full iv's).

This morning it is just a memory I feel great. There is a little seepage when I remove the athletic supporter and the gauze that is packed in. Other than that all is good. I also noted I cant comfortably pick up my son as I scan feel it in my groin.

I feel great and am so happy it is finally done. Thanks to all of you for your support.

Wish I would have read that earlier. I over did it a little today and so I have a little pain in my lower abdomen, I assume it is probally the cut cords. For those of you that have been there and done that. I am not seeping at the sutures anymore which is good, but is it normal to feel a mass in the scrotum? No he didn't leave anything behind :-) and how long is it till the scrotum looks empty?

just curios who gave me the new subtitle so to speak? and thanks for the welcome.

Keep any eye on the mass. I had two of these after I was castrated and basically it was clotted blood that had seeped out of the end of the cords. At their largest they were the size of my testicles, but eventually they go away and you have a nice, empty scrotum. :)

The testicular artery(ies) are very close to a rather large artery, closer than other things of similar size in the body, so there could be quite a bit of pressure there causing seepage, but so long as the sutures used to tie the cord off are secure there should be no issues.

However, if you feel uncomfortable and worried do get in touch with your physician. better safe than sorry, but from the description you've given me, it sounds like it may resolve on its own. Do keep any eye on it and if you're troubled by anything, again get in touch with the doctor.

I think the pain or discomfort in the groin area is caused because the doctor pulled on the attaching cords, muscle, etc so he could extract as much of it as possible and then remove it. It was very noticable during my surgery that my doctor was tugging agressively on both sides and when I asked, he said it was so he could cut everything off as short as possible with a scrotal approach. The soreness in my groin lasted much longer than anything from the incision but was more of an annoyance than a real issue.

Everything is feeling fine this morning and I decided to not wear the athletic supporter today as I was tired of the tightness around the waist.

Something else I have come to realize , I had been so preoccupied with getting the procedure done now that I don't have that goal anymore it feels like something is missing. I guess I will have to figure out something to fill that void.

As someone who has now been on CA for 16 months, with no desire for sex anymore, I still have the urge to go the next step and make it permanent. Its strange to me that I should feel this way, considering my current status. One might logically think that this desire would vanish once one's T is almost gone. Instead, it has become more compelling to me as the months continue to add up. Like Terry's comment, this too is the goal that I am now focusing on. I've thought about what happens once I am done and I figure that I will need to concentrate on something else in my life after this final step is accomplished.

I have to complement Terry for his determination, and courage, to succeed in doing what he wanted.
