I gotta say that it has been a long time since there has been a series of stories that has captivated me that way that this series has.

There are few series that I have ever considered posting feedback about, but a recent comment about the lack of constructive feedback for authors from readers and the validation it provides an author, struck a chord with me.

I have been checking the new stories list 2 or 3 times a night. The best treat was to finish chapter 3 only to find chapter 4 waiting to be devoured!

I love the way the story is unfolding, the consistency of the main characters consicous, the descriptions of experiencing the situation, the internal acceptance and processing of the situation by the main character, as well as your attention to detail just at the right time! Brilliant!

This series reminds me of the sexual awareness and curiousness that I discovered around this age as a child growing up (in this era!).

Actually, my wife has even been turned onto reading this series since she knows about my interest and is just and intrigued. Just now, she was mad that I was reading chapter 9 without letting her know that it was posted!

I just read part nine. It is very good.

I wonder if Jeffie agreed to his castration and glansectomy.

I assume that Kim is a eunuch. I wonder if he is missing anything else. Did Kim agree to his modifications?

Will Benny see any boys who are full nullos? If so, did they agree to it and did they have glansectomies before their penises were removed.

Will Canyon have a glansectomy or a penectomy? If so, will he agree to it? If he does, how will Benny react?

I'm a big fan of this series. The suspense throughout is amazing, but it also seems to raise some interesting philosophical questions;

Is "child neglect" worse than a loving relationship with "child abuse"?

Without a moments thought my knee-jerk reaction is a resounding "NO!" but this series does raise this question from an interesting perspective. Despite the abuse and humiliation Benny has had to endure, there are clear signs (eg the craving for mr poore's affection) that benny might prefer Canyon's strange life to his own, where his mother doesn't look after him or provide the love he needs.

Benny's conflicting feelings between hating the position he's in, and craving love from mr poore, I suggest, may foreshadow him choosing voluntarily to remain in this strange lifestyle, as do the implied existence of many other such boys who are all content and happy.

Will Benny ever want to go home? If he stays with mr poore, what will become of him? When will Canyon take his fathers place? What will benny do then?

Was mr poore's childhood exactly like canyons? Does he still have testicles or is his implied manliness the result of implants and HRT? What is in store for benny when he has his "doctors appointment"?

So many questions...i'm on the archive every few hours to check for an update! Great story.

Even if you're talking about abuse not on the same scale as this fictional piece, you still have to take into account what A-1 mentioned on another thread and hasn't moved here yet: Stockholm Syndrome, as in captives or abuse-ees bonding with their captors/tormentors.

To be brief, my stepdad wasn't the best parent in the world. But when he showed up, despite his outbursts and actions, I did everything a young boy could think to do to make him love me. I didn't have to go and spend time with them, as they didn't have custody of me. But I did, every single time it was offered.

Why?

Because those that did have custody of me pretty much ignored me. Not to the scale, again, of this story, but they ignored me.

The sad truth is, even after having a gun held to my head or being knocked around by a drunk for the first time, I wanted to stay there. Some attention is better than none? Despite it being abuse?

Like I said, I wanted to stay in the abusive home, rather than the boring one. Does that make sense? As adults, can we sit back and think that we comprehend what's in an 11-year-old's mind?

Add to that the fact when the kid knows that he isn't the only one getting abused. If others are, then it's normal, right?

's? He's already said this once in the story. Something like "I control him like my dad controlled me."

Raising the question: Do the abused grow up to be abusers?

Do I do the things my stepdad did? No. Have I ever considered it? No.

Simply put, I know what 'my' youngest, #5, now 12, expects of me. He knows what behavior I expect of him. He knows the consequences if he screws up, and they do not include spanking him until he's red and screaming. The very threat of having his pants pulled down and hand-swatted once is plenty.

The last time I administered even a 3-swat spanking was over 5 years ago on #4, and he was warned. Repeatedly. OK, he was a little "light pink" for a few minutes. Heck, I got worse from the principal in the 8th grade. Still, I did NOT enjoy doing it. It tore me up, and the boy saw that. I think that made more of an impact than anything.

Sadly, though, it is a statistical fact that there is a cycle of abuse. Abused kids are likely to abuse their own in later life. You can Google that, it's all over the place.

Perhaps Jesus had stats readily at hand? Keep in mind, the last time I studied this was in SCED404 or something in college.

I like to think, in my case, though, that I didn't fall into that cycle.

However, there seems to be a cycle of this "abusive lifestyle" in the story. Mr. Poore is well connected, and all of his friends have boys in similar situations. And they all seem content with it.

It gets me to thinking about the Stockholm Syndrome issue, and makes me realize, that to some degree, I had it back then.

It would be interesting to see some other comments on Waka's points here.

I think that the presence of these deeper subplots and overtones goes a long way to making this story a masterfully written piece of work, rather than just a piece of erotic fiction.

This one has such depth it seems somehow simultaneously fantastical and believable.

Mr Poore's life's similarities to that of his son are only implied, and it seems reasonable to guess differences would exist given differences in era. If this is some kind of life-cycle, the next question that naturally follows on is; when/where did it all begin?

I wonder if Scott and/or his brother Evan will be taken by one of Mr. Poore's friends.

I have to say I love the way you are hinting at things. Benny is not noticing ALL the 'changes' that are happening to him; the headphones went kinda un-noticed by him. I love that kind of reference to brainwashy-type stuff.... great writing, sir!

This story is just ... SO 'me'. Even though it makes no sense, I would love to be Benny; even as scared and worried as he is, I would have loved this adventure at that age... had dreams of similar things happening to me regularly.

Only thing is, I hate to admit, I kinda hope he ends up permanently 'trapped'; completely ensconsed into this new life... but there have been hints that he is, at the time of writing the story, 'free' in some way.

I just read part ten. It was very good.

When they have the talk, I wonder if Benny will ask Mr. Poore if he wants him to have his glans removed when his balls are removed. If Mr. Poore says "yes", will Benny ask if he wants Benny to have his entire penis removed? What will Mr. Poore reply? What will Benny decide?

Am really enjoying this story. I eagerly await each new chapter. Makes me wish I would have had the opportunity to get things removed at that age. I am beginning to suspect that possibly Mr. Poorer just MIGHT be Benny's dad.

I'd like to have a picture of the look on Scott's face when he walks in on Saturday.
