Are you kidding?

No, I'm not. Putting men on HRT rarely cures them of ED.

Reading posts about men who use more then one type of HRT and say one gives them more drive is fine but I was hoping for a more researched medical study btw.

It would be great if they did those studies. They need to. But if any have been done, they are hard to find info on. There are actually a number of differences I have personally seen with different test esters. Hair loss being one I can speak with great authority on, as I went completely bald in 18 months after my 21st birthday. So I could tell what form of test would cause more hair loss than others. I could use Testosterone Enanthate or Propionate and the acceleration was very slight. When I would use Sustanon, my hair fell out so fast that I actually dreaded combing my hair. I also found it made me far more aggressive than with any of the other injectables. I've read of several men who had testicular cancer and needed HRT, who got so bad on Sustanon, they couldn't take a dose low enough. LOL And many of these men who got on Enanthate said they couldn't even feel it at all. The way those men on that forum rated the different tests were as follows, worst to best was; Testosterone Enanthate, Testosterone Cypionate, Sustanon, then Androgel. I have used all of these and I would say they were right. In fact, high doses of Enanthate, such as 1,000mg/wk, I couldn't even tell anything at all, other than I got stronger and then later started gaining muscle. But it didn't feel anything like Propionate that I was accustomed to, and certainly not anything like Sustanon.

I agree that other factors should be looked at with regards to ED. I have the erectile function of an 18 year old, even though I'm 35. But get me working alot of hours with limited sleep, and then I become more like other men my age, even though my testosterone regime is the same. I also noticed drinking raw vegetable juice enhances my already good erectile function even better. And reducing all sugars to post workout only helps as well. It would be interesting to see if a good neuro stimulator like methyl testosterone would help with ED.

I have seen a lot of interisting posts on here.

I am on a PLO Testosterone Gel 10% AM 5% PM as the bases like the androgel and Testim do not absorb, as daily applications always keep levels up and more consistant of a young mans hormones they may be better for us younger guys who need the gels as the injections mimic an older mans hormones.

You also want to monitor Estrogen levels as well as sometimes testosterone put into your body which is needed will not be the same as your body making it.

Also HCG or HMG is good to have HMG it is similar to FSH this will also work as it is almost indeticial wheater you have your testicles or not it is good to have your LH levels up owever HMG is only really good for fertility reasons if you still have your testicles and may have destroyed them or they may have been infected and damaged such as mine where atrophy took place, described in some of my older posts.

As for Testicular impaltns I have heard of some who like them and also few stories of not liking them, depends if you want to have balls still but they will not hurt if you get smashed or something, so perhaps this is the way for some however others do not like the testicles I have learned as well that others do not want implants as they got rid of them in the first place and do not want something in the scrotum to resemble them perhaps..

As for my HRT it has been difficult to find a good Physician that really understood the hormones very well and provides my testosterone levels much more back to normal.

i am very happy with my daily HRT regimen.

Hope i have made a contribution to this board with this infomration which is not medicaladvise or intended to make any recommendations only personal opinion.

Seems that T-Cypionate once a week keeps everything working.

If I miss more than one week, some ED sets in, but goes when T levels return to normal. I get checked once a year.

I seem to be much the same mentally with greatly differing T levels between 2x normal and nearly castrate. At castrate levels I get the flashes and then feel pleasantly different: generally happily content, and more sociable, but at the price of greater emotional sensitivity to events, tearfulness and joy. Almost complete ED and no ejaculation. It feels very good.

The conversations with Docs in the last couple of years seem to show that they consider the link between small changes in T to depression and sexual aggression to be strong. From one personal experience, it seems that this is just not so. We are complex beings, with many things that have to do with these matters.

I guess someone published an eye-popping article somewhere, and it now is taken as fact. Not often I have advice for my esteemed doc, but maybe a "pinch of medical salt" is a good thing with some reading.

I am on a product called Axiron, which is a metered pump of liquid which is rubbed into the armpit once daily and it works very well for me, almost as well as the originals before they failed and had to be removed. My doc has wanted to change me to injections and also gels, but I have resisted as I am happy with the product I use.

Long story short, complications from biopsy almost bled out in the ER 8hrs later. My testes eventually died and I had 14ndl. Felt horrible mid twenties going on 70-80 years old. Complete loss off thinking/brain fog, physical exhaustion, carple tunne,l and aches everywhere... I was about to apply for disability.

They put me on injections 200mg every two weeks. Made things better but still had aches/brain fog/ and carple tunnel. Just wasn't healing fast enough to keep up. After 8 months Endocrinologist switched me to patches 4mg daily. Most of the brain fog went away. Still ache in my hands and elbows but better.

Was great at math, reasoning, and worked prototype machinery. Now I am exausted trying to pass basic high school math and problem solving. The patches cost me $525 a month. Having hard time justifying the expence. Didn't mind low sex drive was kind of a unexpected relief. My symptoms seem unusual but are dabilitating. Since injections didn't work and patches are ridiculously expensive I'm considering dropping HRT if I could find a way to function :-)

How does anyone function without HRT and what have Ya'll tried.

AsaRobbie,

You could switch to injections which cost about $120 for the 10mL bottle of testosterone cypionate. Works as well, but you have to stab yourself in the butt with a needle twice a month.

Losethem,

Tried

for 8-9 months. Got use to the injections after a while... At first I'd close my eyes and try not to shake. My brother said he would buy a dart gun:-0.

They really didn't work for me, too much crash and burn. Had a high for 2 days, okay for about 5 days and then suck. I've tough of doing half dose every week and see what that does but. Will say as far as body hair and morning wood its at least double of what I had. But not much help with energy, aches, and nerve pain.

Another option is to use Androgel or equivalent. You rub the gel in daily. Regimen will keep your T levels up, level depending on amount used. It is not cheap, if not covered by insurance. My insurance pays about 365 a month. Another thought: consider suing the guy who caused the bleed out - let him pay for the androgens.
