Somebody stole a car, chased by the police, couldn't make the turn, jumped the curb and smashed into a gas pump. It closed the street, closed my gym, and now closed the station. I'm out of gas, it's pouring rain and the bike has a flat tire.

Probably the same Californai drunk that hit a power pole and knocked out power for thousands so they missed the last five minutes of the 2008 Super Bowl.

When it rains, it pours.

AN,

And this town actually has a police pursuit law named after it!

So, the cops chased this fellow, who was speeding, thru town. He was evading, at high speeds, in the rain, headed right for my neighborhood. Thank God he hit the gas pump! Just a few more blocks and dude would be at my front door! Talk about some scary fuckin' shit! Anyway, he could have crashed into someone, and more importantly me exiting the gym!

There was an explosion, car caught on fire, burnt wreckage. How exciting!

goodness, gracious great balls of...balls of...balls of...🙏

Speeding, shmeeding.

It is less the speed than the manner of driving that is a safety issue. Go with the flow should be the rule of thumb. And if safety were truly the issue, then fines are not the answer. Restriction of driving privileges would be a better approach.

But as we all should know. It's not really a safety issue. It is a revenue issue, so it will always be fines and to hell with safety.

You are exactly right.

The driver should be concentrating on driving safely. However laws require that he drive within the limit. The two are often not the the same thing at all and likely to be incompatible.

But then laws are rarely subtle things.

I have decided to become a policeman, a patrol officer actually. Being that this addiction to speed and all things fast seems well, a part of the human condition, I decided on a new career path. My thought..."if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!". And join 'em I did! I enrolled in a criminal justice coarse! Pretty soon I'll be chasing the "bad guys" in hot pursuit, lights and sirens blaring. I can't wait!

I got right into the class, it's almost like it was destiny, like they were just waitng for me to sign up. Wow!

So don't let me catch you speeding or else! 🍑👋

As always the CHiPer

Yikes! Chilli as a CHiPer. As soon as I get my mind around that, I am going to start writing the script.

Don't put your pencil to the pad quite yet. I gotta come clean...there is no class...I lied about the whole becoming a cop thing...yup my record plays like a broken record if that makes any sense. Like an LP of old hymns full of of skips, pops and hisses. Lucky if I could donate it to the salvation army.:(

So don't be listening for me on your radio anytime soon. Nope...no badge for this badger...it'll back to wiping bee hives and shocking the dead.

Speaking of bees, about the only work I'm good for is maybe as a bee keeper in a bazar in Bangladesh!

"Look out SWARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
