Hi. EVEN my local newspaper shut down it's comment section on its web site. They had a feature where anyone could log in and make a comment about most controversial news items. But so many people were submitting comments, and many or most of them were so angry, so offensive, so inappropriate, so mean spirited that they were spending too much time deleting messages. The comment section turned into nothing but an outlet for bitchy angry people so they turned it off. Don't know when they will turn it on.

Thoughtful, curtious, (not curt) Open dialogue, sharing of thoughts, debate, discussion, even disagreement between members of this community is what makes this a community and not just an info site.

Take a deep breath, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again.

Enjoy browsing different forums and move on to different topics for awhile.

Long after we are dead and gone, political and religious discussions will be still going on, unresolved, in heated debate and not much will have been solved, and disagreements will probably be pretty much the same as they are today; just part of the curse of being human.

PS: I always read what I wrote before I post it. Sometimes I decide that I need to temper or change my comments so as to not be offensive. Sometimes someone will take offense when no offense was meant. I really do try to debate, not insult. But when you don't know a person and are communicating with many people at once, something one says can always seem like an insult to someone else, even when no insult was intended. So it goes. Typing your thoughts gives you an advantage because you CAN take something back befor you hit the POST button. Gives you a chance to think about what you "said" before actually "saying" it.

Every year on the last day of school, during my grade school years. 15 minutes before the last bell rang i would always run out of the class room, Yell, "Suckaaas!" and knock over something on my way out the door. Usually the globe.

you should do something cool before you leave.

Please don't leave.

One should never leave anyone or anywhere.

One should only go towards something new and better.

Learn from the past, but don't dwell in its house.

I understand there is a lot of passion when it comes to sex, religion and politics. I "tried" to avoid getting into that forum much because frankly while I have some fairly strong feelings I thought it was a trainwreck already and who needs a fat guy to do the body splash on top of it.

I don't think anyone has stated the "purpose" of the Eunuch Archive because. Well its pretty simply stated what the forum is about. So, do people coming here start off thinking "At last! A place for me to post information on Sarah Palan!" or "Promote Mr Obama or McCain" or more important Bash everyone you don't agree with?

Maybe I'm the weirdo I didn't come here for that type of info. And I rather doubt many of you came here for that either! Maybe there is this impression that everyone here is one side politically? That we are all Red or Blue States. Based on the popular vote I have to suggest that just not possible. So if half of us (roughly) fall on the other side politically and probably don't appreciate being bashed for our beliefs no matter how stupid and idiot you might think they are? How does that work? The same thing has happened with religion when its been brought up.

If it were possible to debate without hate? As I think a few of our politicians have I say great! But doing this by the Internet invites people to say and act in ways they never would in a face to face encounter. I think we would all benefit from asking ourselves if we would remember that before we click send. As to quitting forums its so easy to simply never log on again. I've chosen to do that many many times and there is nothing easier.

Everyone brings Joy and happiness to a room, some by entering, and others by leaving.

The choice is yours.

Well, Happy is a choice YOU make. You just have to be so GODDAMNED strong about it after you made it that nobody can change your mind about it...

...as you may have gathered, I DON'T DO GUILT TRIPS. I STAY AT HOME AND CHEER UP MY NEIGHBORS...

I can only make one of the two of us happy. Today's just NOT your day and the outlook for the rest of your life is not good, either...
