Hi, SplitDik, i,m interested in your regimen. I,m on androcur 12.5 mg, for low testorene levels. But i don,t want to have gynecomastia, so i take femara in low doses. I want to know if i stop the androcur, and only to take tamoxifen or raloxifene. What about, skin, hair? With low doses of androcur my skin it,s clear, and my hair looks better. Could you explain me?

I too took Androcur at the same low dose as you. I have stopped using Androcur for nearly a yr. My skin remained less oily. Similarly, my libido and sexual ability never returned.

But your question of whether your effects of androcur remain after you stop it (i.e., become permanent) depends on how long you have used it. I used it for a 4-yr period, and its effects are permanent. Not sure if you took it long enough to do the same.

I read you had a bad case of anemia. How bad it was? Did you need blood transfusion or iron supplementation? I also have lack of motivation in the mornings, but i don,t know if it is because low test, or from low dopamine and low serotonine. Cause if it,s from low test the lack of motivation will be day and night no, i don,t know? I,m also very interested in casodex(bicatulamide), it seems to have very less side effects to liver. It blocks androgens in the receptors, but doesn,t reduces the free testosterone, so you will have some diminished libido, but you will have more strenght to exercise less reduced muscle mass, etc. I don,t mind to get some libido, what i don,t want it,s to have high libido. I,m reading all the posts, and there is almost nothing about casodex. Why no one has tried it? Any experiences? Thanks

I think you may be confused. You say you take Androcur to lower your testosterone, but then you say you want to stop androcur and take Tamoxifen or Ralista. If you're a guy with testicles and take Tamoxifen or Ralista it will generally increase your testosterone above normal levels. These drugs block estrogen. So I'm not sure what you want to do -- if you want to lower testosterone the Androcur is necessary, and while you take that it is good idea to take Tamoxifen or Ralista to avoid estrogen effects. However, if you stop Androcur, then you should also stop Tamoxifen and Ralista unless you want to get high testosterone. On Tamoxifen and Ralista your skin will get dry. I didn't notice any effect on hair. My skin is always good, so I don't know if it might make some people break out, but for me it was fine.

Probably because Bicalutamide (Casodex) is 105 USD for thirty 50mg tablets while Cyproterone Acetate (Siterone, Androcur) is 70 USD for fifty 50mg tablets on inhouse.

Side affects of Casodex upset me a little:

>need to urinate frequently during the night

It was not really serious, so no blood transfusion, just iron supplement. But anemia went away soon after I stopped Androcur. My understanding is that it is caused more by low testosterone than by Androcur directly.

I believe the lack of energy (for me, all day long) is probably another effect of low T. It got better when I supplemented with Tamoxifen and reduced Androcur dosage. And it got even better after I stopped Androcur but continued with Tamoxifen.

too tried to find out more about Casodex and try to use Casodex. I was not able to find much info (less than what you found out about it), nor was I able to buy it here in Thailand. So, sorry, can’t help you with it.

Now, after 1 yr stopping Androcur, it is down to once every 2 to 3 weeks.

However, as I had posted elsewhere, my breast start growing and tits swelling out if I also stop Tamoxifen. So, I am taking Tamoxifen alone at this time, at 10 mg/day just to keep feminization at bay.

All this indicate to me that the changes on me have become permanent. But without Androcur stopping testosterone production, I get enough from my other glands so now I have my energy back, no anemia, etc., but not enough to get my libido back. So, basically, I no longer need Androcur and be able to maintain what all the benefits I was looking for.

In short, perhaps you too might also try stopping Androcur (but be sure to take some time to ween your system off it by halving your already low dose every few days or so). You might find that, like me, all the effects you wanted are now permanent, and no longer need the expense nor bad side effects of the medicine.

I ordered Cyproterone from Inhouse. Before it arrived I injured my knee at work. The knee swelled up along with my calf

muscle and foot. the knee got better ,however my leg did not. Meanwhile,my order had arrived,so I started on 100mg

Cyproterone per day. I finally went to my doctor about about my leg. He thought it could be cellulitis(infection of the skin

and underlying tissue).

The doctor ordered anti-biotics and he ordered a Doppler echo ultrasound to check for blood clots. The ultrasound came

back negative for blood clots,but the test indicated a possible Baker's Cyst(a sack of fluid build up behind the knee).

Then it suddenly hit me,I was having a side effect of the Cyproterone, and the Baker's Cyst had ruptured.

I have stopped the Cyproterone and my leg is slowly improving.
