Unfortunately, the Archive's story board is unable to work with East Asian fonts. We've had at least one Japanese story submitted, which I read but was unable to get to function properly on the story board. I'm afraid that the Archive is restricted to stories using one byte character sets.

Perhaps it is that Germans historically have been freer in expressing what in other countries wasn't acceptable. As early as Bismark, Berlin was well known as the Capitol with sin on the hoof. The military had a decidedly "gay" slant-to the extent that one General died after appearing in a Tutu and performing what was then described as "most energetic" solo. What happens in the elite classes is often heavily mirrored in the plebeian sector simply because what one group is doing and getting away with gives a certain license to others.

I do read German and find them to be interesting and somewhat more direct and graphic. They're also more detailed and have an internal construction that isn't typical to the English speaking population. But I cannot say that they are "better", they simply represent a different culture and how they view their world. I have friends in the ultra chic city of Buenos Aires who would be shocked to read what is written in German, however, they do just the same things.

Finally, it's a willingness to be candid, whatever your culture, that makes stories interesting and compelling. There's a sub-part that is sponsored by Eunuch Archives called , "The Dark Spot" and it more clearly approximates what is written in German. If one finds the stories here-in English-a bit pale, try that site.

If you're talking about Slammr's "Dark Spot" site, that site is NOT sponsored or monitored by EA. It's wholly independent and run only by Slammr.

don't know for sure about that because the Romans for example(think Messalina, Theodora ,Caligula, Tiberius etc.) were and probably are not so vanilla at all.

I think it would be better for everyone when everything would be in English though.

the tanslation machines don't work too well.well enought to understand the most ,but not the details .very important !!!

the Germans who do write stories here do understand English very well I assume.I do understand German but I still like to read the stories in English.

But it's overoptmistic to think that everyone can write in English, even if they can read it. Myself, when I write in English, it takes me hours and hours of googling idioms to check if they exist, and in the end I am still very insecure.

I understand your problem.

maybe there are some people on the Enuch Archive want to check and edit your English version for grammatical spelling etc.

I only read the English stories.

even when I can read German.but there are many if not most who don't understand German at all.

I found this forum by searching for german keywords!

My english wasn't good enough to understand english stories so I'm happy about that!
