I treat removal of my genitals calmly.

But I shudder when I think of people who think of voluntarily amputating some other limb of their body.

I have such desires just do not fit in my head.

Though I know that some people think just the opposite: for them it is easier to lose, for example, the leg, than the reproductive function.

I heard it from one acquaintance own ears.

I just think about removing my balls because I can’t stop thinking about having sex and maybe that would subside and I could be more like a woman and just think about everything else

My first encounter with an amputee was in first grade. "Henry" had lost his index finger at the middle joint just before the start of kindergarten in a bike accident, so by first grade (different classes in K) it was well-healed. Everyone was just fascinated by it. It was also my first experience (that I can recall) with sympathetic pain. A number of us felt it - you see the injury, and you literally feel a pain yourself in that area. Of course, being 6, he was more than happy to tell us all the bloody details!

At that time, there was a mom-and-pop grocery store nearby in one of the small boomtowns here, which are now just Suburbia. The owner was missing a whole finger, and the local urban legend was that it had gone into someone's hamburger order when he was grinding meat! Of course, in the early 70's here, if you found a quarter on the ground, you were in hog heaven for the penny candy counter.

Have to say, I never had any desire to lose an appendage like that.

i often think about my natural testosterone and the effect it had on me throughout my life. i believe that had i been in treatment for dealing with many issues much earlier in life, i might have resolved them without an orchiectomy. i may have also determined that an orchiectomy would be best. but ultimately i knew and it became most evident in the past few years that i needed to get rid of the testosterone. i had already run into a wall when requesting chemical castration and i also felt that i might not always stick to it. that would not be good for me. to me it became essential to remove my testicles because they were doing something really bad to me that other solutions could not help with. I can’t imagine how someone could benefit from leg amputation. i don’t know much about it, but wanting that seems quite different from my situation.

I have often wanted my brain removed. had it ever been, i’d probably have a different outlook now. but ironically, i agree with many woman that the testicles are in fact an extension of a man’s brains. thus i may actually have had that done sufficiently at the time of the orchi.

I know at least one person who was a voluntary leg amputee, however she had some medical issues that caused her to have had several major surgeries on them, and they still didn't work usefully... She basically decided that rather than going through more surgeries of limited benefit, to simply get them taken off. She says it reduced her pain and didn't significantly change her general abilities since she was mostly a wheeler anyway. Significantly different from someone wanting to get properly working parts removed...

I have not knowingly met any, but there are a variety of reports in the wheeler world of able bodied people that want to be paralyzed (I certainly don't get that, the nice parking spaces aren't that great!) and either 'fake it' and use chairs they don't need or even seek surgery to get their cords cut - or attempt to have 'accidents' that do the same thing... They are somewhat resented by the 'real' paralyzed folks, mostly because of the perceived competition for resources...

My personal view is that there is a significant difference between wanting to get a body modification that results in a significant disability in dealing with the world in general, vs. what we seek in modifying our genitals which doesn't really make much of a difference in terms of dealing with things not sex related...

I have desired penectomy, castration and scrotum removal with urethra relocation but have not found a way for my doctor to say that it is necessary.
