Not to hijack this thread from it's original subject, but since others have already brought up the "Dune" movie....
I am FURIOUS that the DVD copy of the original (1985) "Dune" movie, they have EDITED THE BEST SCENES out of it!
Two years ago, I was soooooooo happy to find Dune on DVD. I remembered way back in 1985 when I first saw it in the theatre, and I remembered the grizzly scenes, the vile Barron Vladimir Harkonen.... You remember? Like the scene when Barron Harkonen murders a victim by pulling his "heart plug" and takes a blood shower? That scene was deleted... Remember the scene where Fayd Routha (played by Sting) and the Barron's Nephew ... not sure about the nephew's name, maybe it was Glasseau Raban... the two of them go to visit the perverted old Barron and walk by a cow suspened by it's legs and being tortured and slaughtered alive... they cut out it's tongue while it was still alive... well I guess someone was offended by that scene, it was deleted. A LOT of the BEST SCENES were deleted.
I myself do not like grizzly scenes, but a LOT of those scenes were essential to the plot of the movie. Now, as it is being sold on the shelves today, you watch the movie and Barron Harkonen just seems a somewhat demented fat man... THE ORIGINAL form made you see the Barron as a pure evil pervert.

In its retirement homes, sex is considered important for the elderly so these places show porn films and hire prostitutes to come in and service the wheelchair bound patients.

This actually solves several problems at once if you think about it:
No more grouchy old self serving geezers. (Dick Cheney get a clue!)
They could die sooner but only with a smile on their face.
And the exercise will keep them in shape.

Wanted to flash my German babe avatar to the old geezer because he is such a nicely wolfish young-at-heart geezer. What does "geezer" mean by geez anyway?
Can I call you a fogey? I like that one because it is like snafu. It means something classy. For fogey, of course, it is "fucking old guy." Snafu is easy to figure out. As to mein presence at eunuch.org, I am still a fanewgy.
Back to the thread: The show was on PMS not PBS as I recall.
It reminded me of a very old story of Hillary Clinton first investigating USA health care for Prez Bill:
HC is touring a hospital and sees a nurse giving an older bed-ridden guy a hand job. She asks about this and is told that his prostrate needs the daily exercise, so the nurse is giving what is medically prescribed.
On the next floor she sees a nurse giving another older bed-ridden guy a blow job. Of course, she asks about this too. The doctor giving the tour explains that the patient has the same condition as the first-floor patient but has better health insurance.
