Re: Midwest Meeting of Members MOM

It has been a hectic several days, which, regrettably, have come to an end. Perhaps, good for a tired body, but sad for leaving and saying goodbye to very dear friends. There were many who showed up over several days, affording great opportunity to be a tour guide and dinner host.
Much of the day, Thursday, was spent in the company of Paolo and Jesus, touring the notorious Uptown and Lyn-Lake districts. Notorious for what, I dont know, but they are. Nevertheless, enjoyable day, with a big lunch at Famous Daves, a bit of respite, then on to the convent.
About a dozen of the local and early arriving members spent most of the
Friday, a return trip to a favored store in Uptown (no, not Sex World), a couple other quick stops, and then errands to be ready for the wine and cheese reception at Jesus and Paolos hotel room. After the wine tasting, a trip to the Hog Trough.
Although I called for a reservation on a banquet room, I think the staff at the restaurant were a bit terrorized by the whole entourage. Of course, we didnt do much to calm their concerns. Admittance to the dining room was costly. A kiss to the nun (either cheek, ring, or elsewhere) was required for admittance. ALL paid, some quite well. We did have a visit from the Dark Lord and his minion. The Light Saber was flashing and darts were flying. No one left unscathed. The deadly duo kept an unruly crowd at bay, allowing the remaining patrons the opportunity to finish their dinners and flee in terror.
Of course, some folks did the evening bar tour and were late for Rivers pancakes the next morning. Tsk, tsk. Not good to upset someone who has a jar of testicles on his mantel. Aside from River, Chef Bobbie (who organized much of this get together) did his best to fatten everyone up, serving both lunch and dinner, then scolded folks for only having three helpings. Heh. Twas a long, well-fed, and satisfying day. Several folks showed up for the day or just for a quick visit on Saturday. It is always great to put a face to a name. Welcome to all the new faces this year; those who missed, well, the nun does own a yard stick .
The nun finally showed up midday on Sunday in duty uniform she was probably busy at Communion on Saturday, urp. (Fresh case of Canadian Communion Whisky.) We caught several folks on Sunday in rather sinful (and blackmailable) behavior we do have the photos - and on Sunday, of all days.
Everything came to a close about 7PM on Sunday, with the last members regrettably departing. Several flights out on Monday, leaving a vacuum. Ill miss the quick kiss of someone special, and look forward to many more. There WILL be more MoMs and likely some other visiting between them.
And now you have the rest of the (ahem,) story. Anything else I will readily deny.

of fine steaks, trimmings, fine wine, lots of good conversation, altogether a great time. The pets were not in good attendance; we have had a mysterious decline in the local squirrel population and they stayed away.
