The only thing I'd add is that needle size is important, and a small guage needle is best for use. Perhaps others can comment on this point, as I do not recall the needle guage I used.

I learned so much from this thread and some others, it taught me and gave me the confidence to finish my castration, using 32% CaCl aqueous solution to destroy my right ball. Based on my experience, and with everyone I've talked to or heard from with complications or poor results with CaCl2, most seem to follow a few themes:
- Injecting far too much. I don't know of any human ball that should ever receive more that 1.5ml, I personally chose 1.1ml with a pretty big ball and had excellent results. 2ml and up is definitely going to be a problem.
- Having injected alcohol or CaCl previously. There's been a lot of discussion how the hardened sections from before prevent the tissues from absorbing predictably or at all, which leads to leakage or lack of effect. My advice is start clean with it first-time, or use a different method.
- Injecting too quickly, not spreading it around slowly. If you tie off the ball, inject from the "top" and let gravity help the solution settle it into it, that goes a long way. Wait 20min for it to begin self-sealing before getting ready to smoothly pull the needle. Place the edge of a dry towel on the ball, right up against the needle - with the scrotum pulled fairly taut against the testicle, almost any overflow will be wicked up immediately as you pull it out.
- But I think a lot of people have pain even without leakage. CaCl2 kills all cells inside the testicles by the extreme osmotic pressure of the salt (pulling the liquid out of the cells until they rupture). When it draws out those fluids, including the ones your body steadily provides to the testicles, you get the enormous swelling - my ball went from about 25ml to way over 100ml (pics on manmods.com). So here's two things - if you've never injected saline directly into your balls before, they're going to have a hard time taking even 1ml, maybe less. So you've got a much bigger chance of spillage. And second, if you haven't done that several times, enough to stretch the capsule, you're going to be a lot more sore from your balls suddenly stretching 3-6x in size. In my particular experience, I had already injected over 20ml into my 'playtoy' a few times, so there was no problem with either.
I can honestly say, with that information, it cost me $4.80, took less than 30min of careful work, and once the band-aid was on, it was pure enjoyment and fascination to watch it work from that point on, to see my ball swell, change shapes, collapse, harden, and then shrink down like a cherry with a 'stone' inside it (and still going).
