Some cats are adept at blending with background. We have searched for the cat this way more than once, only to find it quietly sleeping somewhere or looking at us with surprised expression (like saying "what all this noise is about?"). More than once, we accidentally closed cat in a cabinet/cupboard (right word?), and that was not immediately obvious. The usual scenario involves door left ajar/open and a curious cat.
I'm an archaeologist-to-be. I'm also used to living with clutter, so I've very very good at looking everywhere, and I do mean everywhere, even places least expected. I opened and checked all cupboards. He simply wasn't there anymore for those 7 hours.
It's Pixel!!!
Lol who's Pixel?

One must remember what the Cat Goddess bestowed on the ancient Egyptian. Windows.
And I always believed it was Bill Gates who gave them to us!

Feral Orange Kitty has missed the third daily, noon time feeding.
Last seen looking fat and healthy so, I suspect it is mousing its' meals.

I was always partial to yellow cats. Or Schroedinger's cat.

Feral Orange Kitty OK-1 came by after a four day hiatus. Ate well.
OK-2 is showing up late at nite, like 11PM for food. Does a lot of rolling around, marking turf and looking cute. It is one old kitty. Big shoulders and narrow waist & hips. Saw it in my back yard making its' business and old fat Black kitty would not leave the house until OK-2 left the yard.
On my last refill run to Petco I found a new refrigerated over priced food. The big Siamese brother and OK-1 take to it well. The others only as opposed to starvation. It is from chicken, chicken liver, whitefish, "natural flavors", eggs, peas, carrots, etc. They seem adept at spiting out the parsley.
One of the kitties is calling, ttfn

Oooh, cool.

I've just started devouring Heinlein's works; this title goes to the top of the heap.

My cat certainly does walk through walls. She walks through a hole in the wall into my place since I never bothered to put in a cat door. Correction: She walks through a wall into HER place which she allows me to use as long as I pay the space rent and not close up that hole.

Why would such a thing as a cat walking though a wall be so "embraced"?
Because anyone who has had a cat haunt them after it died has witnessed it.
A very close Abyssinian was experienced by two guests at different times.
Come to think of it, that foundation of 5 condos was a benign American Horror Story house.
It was haunted before the cat's passing. Just a presence, nothing bad.
Experience may lend an acceptability to cats walking through walls.
And it may be relatively common as such hauntings go.
