3 storm drains don't allow Lake Moi to form in the back yard, no more.

I sleep soundly on stormy nights, no longer waiting for the moment when I need to run a bilge pump or siphons.

My estimate is I got 2 maybe 3 inches of rain over these storms and more coming.

Where oh where is the "Good News" regarding California rivers, lakes, reservoirs, snow packs.

It looks like we are in that classic wet year weather pattern of successive storms bringing "rain" and "snow".

Next event - middle of next week. <glub glub>

When I was a kid, they would helicopter spread rye grass seed on the bare hills.

Especially the ones that were control burned.

The hope was for a small rain to germinate the seed before the big ones in November/December.

Had they done that this year, it would have worked. And worked to prevent mud slides just as it use to do.

I haven't heard those words in a decade or two. Inspiring.

Perhaps I'll write a story about the Bilge Pump that ate something big like the Bronx or Queens or East Liberty. . .

Funny, I am from LA too but I do remember houses sliding down the hill after rain storms, usually they fell on Hwy 1 somewhere. I remember about 25 years ago that Big Sir was someplace you could not get to because the road was washed away because the hill overlooking fell on it. Had the same problem in the Santa Cruz mountains the same year. It was the winter of 94-95.

But hey, my memory is not like it once was.

It has been a wonderful series of rain events although

"The O.C." got cheated out of the last two events while Torrance up by LAX flooded.

The air is cooler, crisper and the nights are so dark now.

The Asparagus are slowly turning autumnal colors and the new Pecan Tree is dropping its' long, graceful in the wind leaves. I was not expecting that. I do hope it is Autumn and not Death.

It better hurry Winter starts in a few days.

Its winter here, it was down in the high 70's today and rained a little tonight however will be much colder, it will drop down into the high 60's, I might even need to close the window part way or put on a blanket.

It almost hit freezing here today.

3 layers of clothes, a $250k printer blasting 65C heat out the ass end all day, and I'm still cold.

(Machine specs call for 50C; I turned it up.)

"Frozen" Russia here. Ok,almost frozen... It was dancing around freezing point for the last month. I wonder, will we have new year with a snow this year or not?

I feel for you my friend, I do remember those days living in Wisconsin like last winter when I left, -40 wind chill and it does not matter what scale you use.
