Kicking Monty out will be the easy part. Keeping him out might be a wee bit harder now: I just noticed the outside back door is off the hinges. No point on buying a dead bolt now.

I'm heading downtown to pay a utility bill. Upon my return, I will clear my back porch of the stuff Monty left behind then look for door hinges. I'd rather not nail it shut if I can reattach it. It's the door I go out of to hang up my laundry and, with my luck, Code Enforcement might bitch if I closed off the only other exit out of my house in an emergency.

I just finished neatly boxing up all of Monty's stuff.

If anyone lives close to me in San Bernardino, I could use help hanging a door.

Monty said last night that he found a place to live a few blocks away but it won't be ready till May 31st. I know the person who's taking him in. I worked out a deal with Monty.

I said he could stay till next Tuesday IF half of the backyard junk is gone by then. There's a pile of junk back there about 4 feet high and 20 feet across and it's all Monty's stuff.

If by next Tuesday, 50% or more of it isn't gone, he's out on the street. If 50% is gone, he can stay till the 31st.

With all my aches/pains I can't physically clean it up myself and Code Enforcement wants it gone.

On a different note altogether, I have a new kidney stone. The pain hit last night while I was in chat starting out as a backache. This morning the pain is in the bladder. From 1969 to now, I've had 36 stones but this is the first one since 2001.

I'll be drinking lots of cold water and doing lots of walking to maker it move faster. I'll pick up some Ibuprofen today so I'll be ready when the pain gets worse.

If it gets unbearable, I'll walk up to St. Bernardine's Hospital one mile north of me and take advantage of my Medi-cal insurance.

One unique aspect of pain: it reminds us that we are alive :)

I bought some generic Ibuprofen so 40 pills ought to last me till June. At the moment the pain is tolerable :)

Strangely, this stone is acting differently than in the past. This one hurts during the day but, so far, it has let me sleep in relative peace. All my past stones produced the agonizing pain in the middle of the night.

I wonder if my age is a factor?

I wonder if it is something other than what you think it is. --FLO--

Well, if the pain gets more intense, I'll take a walk up to the hospital and get a real medical opinion :)

Today, the pain changed and I'm thinking you might be right UncleFlo. The other condition that feels similar to a stone is Pancreatitus. I've had that twice before.

I'm going to take a slow one mile walk up to ST. Bernadine's Hospital and get checked out, if they're not too crowded.
