I felt your pain 🙄

I have a natural gas generator.

The natural gas has never gone out in my life time.

And if it is more your style, propane.

I am not a fan of liquid fuel because I understand it does get "old" and if unburnt requires a change out over time.

The generator is automatic and powers on one a week and has kept me lite when neighbors were dark for whatever reason.

The Way to Less Pain.

Just moderate, beautiful Autumn weather.

The time change with the rain and cool down was like a double whammy of seasonal change.

The last of my Peter's Honey Figs are ripening and sweet. Funny how the tree has all kinds of baby fruits and ripens them in a sequence. Not all at once. I got a lot of production out of that tree considering it came in a 1 quart container about 9 months ago.

Ah, Lady propane. When I grow up, I want to sell propane and propane accessories.

I had one of those nights when I was so tired I could watch TV. The best I could find to watch was one of those specials about Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood. She has quite a Dolly Parton sense of humor. They were answering call-in questions. You could kind of tell that it was a female that called in and asked how they start their day. Trisha said that Garth usually gets up first. She can hear him padding around the house in his socks firing up the fart machine ......

Hope you have as reliable a natural gas generator.

Natural Gas is wonderful if you are in a place where you can get it, so far they have not run a pipe to Hawai'i so its propane here. The only problem with propane is its dirty, the jets on the stove get clogged over time and need to be cleaned but as long as you know this, NO Problem.

We have a 200 gal propane tank near the house, it supplies gas for the on demand water heater and the gas stove. I love cooking with gas over electric, electric is way to slow, takes forever to heat up and forever to cool down, gas even propane is a much better choice.

The Weather (on CBS NATIONAL NEWS) claims that a Polar Vortex is sweeping south next week. (

Do share.

I know who to blame but EA

Hint: Whose Polar Vortex ?

Blizzard is starting here. Snowfall predictions are pretty wild, ranging from 6" to 16". Other than some snowblower activity, I am inside. Tax Webinar all AM and then furnace guy here to tune and clean both furnaces at 1PM.

You know the electricity is way more expensive here but we don't have a heating bill, none, the only time I close my window is when we leave and lock the house. First thing when we get home is open the house up, doors, windows, everything.

Having incurred several of those Minnesota winters including the last one, I can say with out a doubt I will never miss them, ever. It was 20 below with a -40 wind chill the day we left and that was last January.

Dress code of the week, shorts, flip flops, t-shirt or no shirt and it wont change next week either.

If anything its a little to warm for me, its in the mid to low 80's and my comfort zone is about 72 but I have the fans going and the windows open.

Where could I find my steady 65F as you have some 80F ?

Also, where is the Riverwind who use to revel in his Winter Season - read earlier uploads, this thread 😄

Will the EA:hearthrobLand migrate to RiverLava ?

Sort of like in the 40's, a family would move from New York to the San Fernando Valley, California

and the other branches of the family would follow -

Kristoff, Paolo, tatula, Cainite (I doubt Cainite), etc. etc.

All bunk with RiverLava until getting settled.

Could Hawai'i handle it? What would Pele do? :D

Pleasant, la la land autumn here. Heavy thick, continuous rain cloud off the coast, just hanging there.

I am getting the last of my Peters Honey Figs. This little tree in a quart container transplanted to a 10 gallon really paid for itself.

My absolute, 100% favorite time of year.

WHY DO I HATE WEATHERMEN?

The forecast today is for "snow" at 2:00 in the afternoon. That forecast was delivered in breathless panic . . .

And by snow they mean MAYBE flurries in Erie (that's 135 miles north) or State College (that's 187 miles east and north) or Scranton PA (which is over 200 miles north by north east) .

But Pittsburgh has a forecast of snow flurries.

Did you know that there's already "lake effect" snow in Chicago (461 miles west)

panic, panic,

Run to the supermarket and buy out all the toilet paper and potatoes chips and frozen pizza.

That was sarcasm BTW.
