Two new STORIES for Free ! ! !

Download in PSYCHOPOMP #8 at this link: click here (http://mysteriapress.com/sdm_downloads/ ... opomp-v-8/#)

Pumpkin Man

Tommy Turner disappeared from Hidden Valley Estates but whispered rumors remained. Rumors of three girls who cast spells, killed a man, freed a demon, and made three boys vanish. Perhaps this was nothing but an errant vision, a bad dream, a night mist. But, it happened, after all, on Halloween.

Demigods of the Pacific

Think the Sci-Fi version of Fifty Shades of Gray. Captain Tyrece Leanard has been betrothed to his high school sweetheart Estralita Delgado. He thinks that they will be making love on her runabout. However, Estralita has a way of disposing of husbands and their pieces parts. She wants to become supreme commander of the Pacific Archipelago. While they are making love, large green men with gills climb over the gunwales and kidnap Tyrece. Does he sink into the depths never to appear again or does he rise from the deep like a new Poseidon to rule the Pacific?

Go to the link above to read both stories in Psychopomp #8.

Today was Pittsburgh Public Theater at the O'Reilly Theater...

They opened their season with THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK ...

Yes, the play is exactly what you think -- a dramatization of the book that we are all given to read in High School. There were at least three groups of high school kids I could see in the audience besides the regular audience of season ticket holders.

For those who might not know -- Anne Frank was a 13 year old girl in Amsterdam who hid from the Nazi's in the attic loft of a factory from 1942 to 1945 with 7 other Jews. The father lived hidden for several years before the Nazi SS found them and transported them to Concentration Camps. The eight are Anne Frank's parents and sister (a few years older), The other family of three (husband, wife, and a 16 year old son who is painfully shy), and a gentleman who seeks shelter.

There is such a difference between reading the diary of a thirteen year old in High School and seeing it now when I am 65 years old. The lessons and perspectives are so different when tempered with time.

The "South Park" powers that be are looking for "Slash/Yaoi/Tweek + Craig" submissions to be shown on national TV.

I found that on the South Park website for an episode that will be about Tweek and Craig.

As always, South Park is finding new ways to offend with glee and merriment and savage abandon...

There is a Lincoln car commercial showing that has Matthew McConaughey driving a Lincoln to a poker game.

That's not what got my attention --

what did was the trumpet playing the very, very, very, cool jazz.

If you listen closely, it's Miles Davis playing his wonderful golden trumpet.

And if you listen here:

It's the theme from "Elevator to the Gallows" a film by Louie Malle.

In the video link I posted look closely, Miles Davis is recording the soundtrack live and not only is he playing jazz trumpet, he's smoking a cigarette and he looks like it's just another jam session with the band. . .

Miles Davis -- the demigod of cool

On one of the political blogs I go to, in the middle of a discussion a poster denounced a candidate like so:

"The best way to treat this candidate is to take (the person) and have that person guillotined just like the French Revolution. It's fast and rids the world of the evil villain or villainess. We may not even have to hold a trial. Were there trials in the French Revolution?"

so two other commentators start arguing vociferously and ten posts later, the original fellow posts...

"Snickers will be served, too"

Suddenly, the discussion stopped.

Me, I was laughing to hard from the beginning to post anything.

What If I wanted a thin mint?
