I use this thread to post the big news state by state. So when Same-Sex Marriage becomes legal, that story is worth posting. All of the internal and internecine and intermediate bickering and fighting isn't worth the post.
Nor do I think that some fool being homophobic and making ignorant and nasty remarks is worth repeating.
I didn't report that seven or so states are fighting the military issuing ID cards to Same-Sex couples in their National Guard units because the bigger story will not only be how Chuck Hagel (Secretary of Defense) gets those states in line but the fact that they are in line with the Federal Government that pays for their National Guard units.
Think in terms of results and not individual steps.

Dave, I don't think they were bigoted people who wrote DOMA, at least not all of them. As for Hawaii, they have allowed civil unions for about 20 years, they are meeting to change that law to allow marriage.
Give it a chance to work Dave.
River
Of course they were bigots and nothing else. What other sort of people would want to deny basic rights to another class based solely on their harmless difference? People who make black people sit in the back of the bus just because they're black are bigots; there is no other justification. People who pay women less for the same job just because they're women are bigots; there is no other justification. People who deny people the right to marry just because they choose a partner of the same sex are bigots; there is no other justification. No rational person can possibly believe that if Ricky Martin marries his boy friend it will lessen the sanctity of any of Zsa Zsa Gabor's nine heterosexual marriages. The only reason to prevent gays from marrying is pure, irrational hatred of other people. You can tart it up with all of the insincere, fake religiosity you want, but when the mask comes off, the face underneath is that of blind hatred.

Maybe you missed my previous post, this is not I repeat NOT a political thread. If you have such opinions that you wish to express do so somewhere else.

River, you know, I just posted a reply to the thread started about castrating sex offenders in Alabama on the 'medically needed subject board'
We may need to do something to corral this wildness short of throwing offenders out with a ban... or, perhaps should ban roll-on to remove the stink?

Why don't you behave and stop this shit…
The subject of Same Sex Marriage in various states belongs here. Same Sex marriage will benefit the EA membership.
The shitty political bickering doesn't.

It all ties in together. People preach the U.S. Constitution but when it comes right down to it, if the U.S. Constitution goes against their religious indoctrination, then to HELL with the U.S. Constitution! They will fight for their belief that Gay's should NOT be allowed into GAWD's HOLY matrimony... (You know, the one HALF of which ends up in D-I-V-O-R-C-E, anyway).
Hypocrisy is hypocrisy, which KNOWS no unique political party...

we have installed a infraction system which will make it clear. River
Is this infraction system public information? It seems to me that actually Dave is trying reasonably to stick to informational posts. Most of the others are pretty much informational and reasonable. Some are not and those political rants begin very early in this thread. Where do you draw the line? Glad I am not a moderator.
