I just got off of the phone with my urologist and he has submitted the surgery request and I should hear back from the center on monday or tuesday at the latest, I cannot have the surgery before the 4th as I have to stop my blood thinners, its hard to believe that a single 81mg baby aspirin can do that much for so long.

That is great news Ken, I'm happy to see you've achieved your goal! I hope to be in the same boat in a few months! I'm about a month away from completing my injections. Your story is very inspiring and gives me great hope that we can all get there too.

I just received my surgery date, Thursday October 20th, I will have them removed by a fully qualified Urologist in a Hospital on an outpatient basis, this will be a radical inguinal Bilateral Orchiectomy under a general anesthetic. I have to go in a few days before for a final consultation with the Dr. and have some blood tests as well.

That sounds like more than just opening the scrotum. Is that where they cut on both sides of the pubic area along the inguinal canals and remove the cords also?

Yes it is, they make two 3 inch incisions and remove the cords as well. I am up for this as I will be under the General Anesthetic. The way I've always wanted it, go to sleep with them wake up with them gone.

I injected for the 8th time:

Right 0.4 ml. Sep 19

Left 0.5 ml. Sep 28

Needle 27g, 96% drinkable alcohol.

I have a new method that seems less painful and easier to control: Sit on toilet (lid down) with a comfortable close to skin panty, put out the testicle to inject. Hold it with one hand and pull it in my skin up/forwards until it is well in place between my fingers and the scrotum. One side of the testicle the spermatic cord is attached and on the other nothing just the round ending which is usually pointing with this method to my thigh and is the side where I want the needle to go through as I rather play it safe and make sure that the only place the alcohol gets in is the testicle and not damage other parts that might send me to the hospital.

I rest my feet well on the ground and rest the syringe on the tight and control the moving by closing or opening my thigh. This takes away the shaking that I had experience while trying to inject using only my hand and also gives me much better control on the movement I can very very slowly push the needle into the testicle. For me the pain is much less by going very slowly in. If it hurts, I just stop and wait few seconds or couple minutes and then proceed until the needle is all the way in (3/4" long) making sure that it ends in the testicle. The slowly push the plunger which at any time I can stop and wait and let the syringe rest on my thigh. Eventually the alcohol is delivered; and the proceed in the same manner to remove the needle from the testicle.

Then I gently put the testicle in the panty that holds it in place and reduces the discomfort until the pain goes away.

In my country things move very slow. I am already almost one year in therapy and still can not get officially to HTR :*(
