Re: There's Always The Weather
The last two days have been incredible, went to the beach and watched kids swimming in the clear waters if the pacafic. Today we are out again camera in hand taking pictures of the top of the big volcano kilauea with snow on the top, its again in the 80s.
Hawai'i is like being in a foreign country for one thing the dress code is shorts and flop flops.
It does get cold at night, last night I had to use a thin blanket and close the window.
The ahi is great and cheep if you like raw fish.
P you need to come here and live you will never need your hoodie again.
And if your dog is small enough you can take him in the foodmart barefooted and no shirt, its OK its hawaii
Aloha

A high of 72F, low of 54F.
High, hazy clouds keep a pleasant atmosphere.
The peach and apricot trees in the front yard are blossoming but the ones in the backyard remain dormant.
Likewise the front yard onion and garlic plants are sprouted but, not the ones in the backyard veggie boxes.
The Asparagus I planted from dried root stock is sending up small, hair like but, sturdy shoots, only one per root system.
I never grew Asparagus before. Seems like fun. And better than broccoli.

Live there and do what?
At least there wouldn't be any more fucking snow and single digit temps, like today.

Asparagus is good. Just cut it before it gets thick and woody. thin tender shoots are best. often takes a few years for an asparagus patch to develop well.

Re: There's Always The Weather
Yesterday there was snow on the ground in EVERY state in the United States except FLORIDA... River, THAT INCLUDED HAWAII!!!
...But in Hawaii you have to climb a mountain to see it... or at least use a telescope... because Hawaii has mountains... the highest spot in Florida is 600 feet above sea level and IT IS A GARBAGE DUMP....
...Speaking of GARBAGE, Paolo, when is it supposed to thaw again? They said today, now they are saying more snow. Now they are saying next week. Next thing will be the FLOODING....

Re: There's Always The Weather
Two friends came yesterday to dig my driveway out of 3 inches of snow.
Last night two inches of snow reappeared. Because my friend's life is chaos, he phoned this morning and needed to see me. He actually did the driveway again --- two tire paths is all they do because my driveway is short at 320 feet and paved. A nearby neighbor has over 1000 feet of driveway that is gravel.
Sunday night it's suppose to snow again.
Fuck this weather.

Around here we think of any temperature with a plus sign and two digits as summer-like. --FLO--
Re: There's Always The Weather
I say we put the space program to good use and drag another star into this system - like a white supergiant and put it at about the orbit of the asteroid belt. That or figure out how to ignite Jupiter. Or move the Earth inside of Mercury's orbit.
