erikboy, you should be in complete control of your urges. If you're not in control of them then you will be uncomfortable and you don't want that. What are the 'nasty' side effects of Androcur? Surgical castration does not have many of the side effects that chemical castration might have that are typical of medications.

For me, the side effects of Androcur included shortness of breath and frequent urination at night, both were really annoying. Much better to be free of testosterone through castration.

I can 100% agree with frequent urination at night and shortness of breath.
But what can you tell about sleeplessness? Do you feel any difference with androcur compared to surgical castration? Or you sleep like a baby. Allways?

I'm not surgically castrated, but both testicles damaged severely with CaCl2. I've never had better sleep. I think that's mostly from lack of T, but others report having trouble sleeping on low T. It might be the estradiol (and progesterone) I've been taking, but I didn't have any trouble sleeping when I had stopped taking both hormones for a month. Progesterone supposedly induces sleepiness but I haven't noticed that effect specifically. I can't ignore that the little T being produced by my damaged testicles isn't also a factor. I've wanted to go all the way with surgical castration, but I'm in such good shape I hate to disturb what's working really well.

How long were you on Androcur? My understanding is that the longer you are on it the greater the probability everything will not return to "normal" I read that some people are affected after as little as 6 months. If the testicles do shrink a noticeable amount chances are they will not produce the pre chemical periods testosterone levels.
So I took androcur back in September, 3rd or 4time I had tried. The effects were almost immediate, much quicker than the times before and on just 25mg a day. Sadly the negative side effects also started more quickly, and because of the shortness of breath I stopped after 3weeks. I just had my free T tested. After each castration before, it quickly recovered to the 170 pg/ml range. After nearly 2 ,months it has only risen up to 62 pg/ml this time. During each castration my free T has dropped to the low 20s pg/ml.

So, got lab tests results. It is now 3 months since I took last Androcur pill. My current T is 726ng/dL. That is even higher level than before I started chemcastration. Before it was 608 if I remember correct. While I was chemcastrated, testosterone dropped to 17ng/dL.

Mine did the same, when I tested a couple of weeks after stopping androcur, it spiked way high and then dropped back to a pre C level, my PSA also seemed to spike after stopping androcur as well. except for this time when it just hasn't recovered, and my T is about half what it was before.

During my first trial, few weeks, T returned much faster and there was a certain T peak I felt like a teenager again. But now things have been much slower and I haven't felt any peak yet. It could be that peak is right now, and T levels will drop later. I will check after 4 months to see, if there is a big drop in level.

Few updates. First, it seems like I have a problem with breast growth. They have been painful for months now. And it seems like size is increasing. I never had such problem before. I don't know what to do. Self medicate myself with Raloxifen or Tamoxifen? Or go to a doc?
It seems like during my chemcastration I lost more bodyhair than I thought. I notice it now as it grows back. It is itchy. On my breast and on my legs.
It is interesting that while I was chemcastrated it was difficult to remember how it felt to have full sex drive and T in my body. Now it is difficult to remember how it felt to have very little T in my body.
Despite at the end of the trial I felt like I don't want to repeat it any time soon, because of all that shortness of breath and sleeplessness, I feel now that I am ready to start next and longer trial, instead of 4 months, something like 6 months right away. Even on Androcur. How comes? I know that I will suffer from sleeplessness and tiredness and being out of breath, but that buzz that sex drive creates in me feels annoyng. Very annoying. Plus it is so right and exciting to be castrated. Perhaps I should think of permanent solution. I am still not decided.
Interesting that fat gain problem hit me only after I stopped Androcur.

I tried androcur in the passed and always stopped after a month because of the same symptoms you had. On July 4 of 2019 I started taking estrogen 2 mg a day and on the 10th of that month I started androcur I did take it for the month of may of 2019 and stopped cause of same symptoms but July I noticed I did not get those symptoms when I started back up and I have now been on androcur and estrogen also added progesterone in September. I feel so good sleep better then I ever did and enjoy so much more in life with out testosterone poisoning my system I do have breast :hearthrob growth but I am fine with that I like getting bigger and sensitive but thats me.
