I do. They live longer from single charge, and I do not want to be a slave of the charger.

PS. Looks like a thread caught some ice and is now drifting.

Fhunter is right, the thread is drifting and I am sorry, now back on topic

I have a question:

With NJ and Hawaii now allowing same sex marriage how long before its nation wide?

5 years?

10 years?

How soon will the Supreme Court need to step in and say its for everybody and end this?

Which state will challenge the law of that state driving it to the Court?

Oh the things we ponder.

Hawaii allows same-sex civil unions but that isn't equal... Federal laws do not recognize that same-sex union as a marriage. That is regardless of unconstitutionality of DOMA.

Think about that -- DOMA still has an insidious effect even though its been struck down as unconstitutional.

The same bigoted people who wrote DOMA also affected many of the Federal regulations in the US Code.

Dave, I don't think they were bigoted people who wrote DOMA, at least not all of them. As for Hawaii, they have allowed civil unions for about 20 years, they are meeting to change that law to allow marriage.

Give it a chance to work Dave.

Well, you should expect that. After all, the Republicans have had control of the Presidency under Bush and Reagan, and the Democrats under Clinton and Obama. For the last 32 years, the Republicans have held the Presidency half the time. Not counting the other two branches of U.S. government, which may be roughly equal as far as control goes, the Republican religious conservatives will have had a significant effect on the bureaucratic picture of American government. It will probably always be significant.

However, I think that eventually that effect will wane, but it takes time. 50 years ago homosexuality was still illegal in a great many states, and so were some types of heterosexual practices and sexual positions, not to mention interracial marriage, etc.

Just remember, as long as the government is retracting it's nose from the American's sexual practices, the freer we become as citizens. (NSA notwithstanding...)

We may as well have some fun with it... (http://leftcoastsportsbabe.com/tag/doma-jokes/)

The interesting time is going to be when a same sex married couple is denied employee

spousal benefits by a State that is more "traditional" and it goes to the Supreme Court.

Across the state, gay and lesbian couples and their advocates celebrated as Illinois was poised to become the 15th in the country to allow same-sex marriages. The bill will now go to Gov. Pat Quinn, who has said he will sign it into law.

Bernard Cherkasov, CEO of the gay rights group Equality Illinois, reflected on the end of a yearslong legislative battle: "The first thought that popped into my mind was all those families around the state that I've met over the past five years in fighting for marriage equality. The couples, their parents, their children, all who have waited for this moment.

"And I thought about my own daughter, who is 4 years old, that she will grow up not knowing that the first four years of her life were spent with the state treating her family as second-class citizens. Instead she will grow up with the equal dignity and respect that she deserves."

Opponents of the bill expressed disappointment with the vote and fears that the law will infringe on religious freedoms.
