I'll call Southern Calif Gas Company on Monday and say TURN THE DAMNED GAS BACK ON. I refuse to take cold showers.

And in Russia we spend 21 days every summer without hot water (for maintaince and tests). Why 21? easy - more continuous days and there should be a compensation for the lack of service.

Ok, ok, I wouldn't scare anyone anymore with horror stories from Russia:)

Woo hoo Time Warner came by and ran new lines. I'm back to having Internet, Cable TV and a Telephone...thank gawd

Now, to call the Gas company.

Southern Calif Gas was out and gave me good and not so good news:

Good - I now have a working water heater and stove.

Not so good - No heat for a while yet.

• The floor heater needs vacuumed out. Once it's done, I recall Gas company and tell them to send out a skinny Gas man as he has to crawl under the house to turn the heater back on.

• The wall heater is off because the vent needs to be cleaned out. Vent is on roof and is probably clogged with a bird's nest or maybe it's crimped.

My neighbor says he'll fix my two roof holes (caused by the firefighters) for $50 plus I buy the tar.

Till the above is fixed, I'll be wearing a jacket during the daytime

It's sooooooo nice to have a stove, water heater, electricity, phone and Internet back on - woo hoo

The only disaster I see in the future is one of those treatments developed by the Nazis in Auschwitz to torture inmates I think it's called a Colonscopy.

are they actually replacing lumber? replacing shingles? If not, you are being ripped off, and they are merely applying a band-aid
