It's been so cold for so long that my truck's windows and door locks have all frozen. Shooting deicer into the keyhole didn't help. Yesterday, the only door to unlock was a back door. That was fun. Shop has reported suspensions so frozen stiff that hitting a small bump is making things break. So far, I've been lucky; at least I can park in the sun and the interior of the truck makes it up to at least the freezing point. The passenger side door lock managed to thaw out by quitting time yesterday.

Even with a garage, this ridiculously large Interstate battery has had a hard time cranking over in the AM. Local Wal-Mart has been deluged with battery returns.

Local news story, one lady was on talking about having 200 gallons of propane delivered, and the bill being $1200+. She told them to take it back. We were lucky in that we had our topped off early, it's a large tank. When this batch is gone, it's gone.

With our electricity bill going up 30% now, that's not an option either. Could be a hot summer, which won't bother me much, and a very bad winter next year.

I had to replace the well pump 3 weeks ago, even though I 'drooled' 3 faucets. Last Saturday, the new pump froze up again, but luckily I was home and took a kerosene heater out there. I put the kerosene heater out there again yesterday, but it never got cold enough to use it.

Haven't used that heater in 20+ years. Kerosene is really expensive - probably because of the cold (Damn gougers).

Georgia is having record-breaking weather. Our farm had rain 301 days in 2013 (Dad's hobby).

Atlantians spent last night on freeways because they were too stupid to stay off the ice yesterday.

School children had to sleep at school, because their poor parents couldn't come get them, or the busses couldn't go.

People died waiting for emergency vehicles that could get through, and a baby was born on I-285.

Vacant vehicles with no gas, and wrecks everywhere. I will be busy next week. Already getting notices for claims appointments.

Our Guvnor declared 'state of emergency', because GA DOT did nothing but say they "were prepared". People were still stuck on freeways this morning.

All the TV and Radio stations were warning about the impending doom, but folks still went out.

Georgians are not geared for ice and snow. Southern Wal-marts, and other mega stores reaped the benefits of the 'cold rush' to "stockpile" yesterday morning.

It never lasts more than a day or two, yet everyone acts like they'll be stuck indoors all winter . . .

Some of the news TV is entertaining, especially watching these cute young things standing 'out in it', describing how "terrible" the conditions are; while having to scrape up enough ice or sleet to show the camera - in their overly mitted hands, and with faces shielded by deep-tundra parka hoods . . .
