The snow is gone. It melted into water and (sand?).
The rain has arrived.
It is WET!
I saw an old man with a white beard building a big boat in his back yard this morning...in the MUD...

I live about 3 miles from the Mediterranean. There is no real winter here. We had a couple of weeks with temperatures around 5-15ºC (40-60F) and that was all. Now is sunny and clear, 19ºC (66F) on my desk termometer (with opened windows). Snow or ice are very rarely seen here, if ever.
Inner Spain can be pretty much cold, and NW Spain sort of cold, but the Med is definitely warm (sometimes too much!).
Sounds like California.
No wonder you people loved it so.

I do have a relic; a real first degree relic of Father Serra

Especially suitable to aid prayers for divine intervention of leg ailments.

Such beauty is nice to visit.
I use to visit friends after I left Milwaukee to share a week or so of White Winter.
But even in a warm house cold seemed to creep into the bones after a while. Red stiff joints required I return to Paradise.
The day after an ice storm is the prettiest sight.

The cold was handy to cool down fresh hot ox tail soup for quick fat solidification and removal. The diameter of thawed snow around the pot was so circular.
Sunny, bitter 50F.
First baby apricots appearing before cherries that are in early blossom along with Fuji Apple.
Something is eating my sprouting sweet shelling peas

Sky is now clear, stars out, 20deg or so, nice a crisp, tomorrow if it warms up to 30 or so it will be shorts and t-shirt weather. Last week it got in to the 50's thought I might need to turn on the AC.

I think this is the coolest weather we have had in a long time.We usually have the almond blossoms out at this time but not this year. And if they do open it is to cold for the bees to work them. This dang global warming is going to freeze me to death before I get warmed up enough to enjoy it.:-\ hmmm another cold storm for this week seriously I am going to get a heater on my Kawasaki.

I am not tired of old man winter yet and the days are getting much longer, December is a lot worse then February we have almost 2 more hours of daylight at this time of the year, and this weekend we are getting another storm to add to the 2 feet of snow we just got.
Sag my friend, we don't plant in the ground until May 15th, plant earlier then that and you stand a chance that a freeze will kill your garden.
