We have look at plate tectonics and LA will some day be where (what I think is the best, coolest, city in the world) San Francisco is, which will be up near Seattle. You could say that the West Coast is ON THE MOVE.

As for snow and rain, 😄

Mammoth has more snow then ever recorded and its only December. LA has rain, the snow pack is so wet wait tell spring when it melts.

BUT

There is a silver lining to that cloud,

THE DROUGHT IS OVER

if the damn hold.

You know of course they say global warming also causes a change in the winter rain/snow pattern.

WHAT CHANGE, I DON'T SEE NO CHANGE.

If Califo-nia was blizzard free it would take from the State's diversity. So we keep them in certain areas as one might expect a blizzard, but not among the mass population.

From L.A. one might drive to snow in Big Bear in about two hours, traffic willing. And it can blizzard in Big Bear. But mostly it just snows there in winter.

Califo-nia, Blizzard Free, mostly

and the most mountainous mountains within a short distance.

The Sierra Nevada range.

The Coastal range up north where it comes out of the ocean most vertically.

A big boring valley between as grows lots of food.

The two ranges meet near L.A. and continue south as "foothills" .

I wish I had the opportunity to learn some geology because unlike the East, Califo-nia geology changes so fast in a short distance compared to, Oklahoma.

I'm waiting for promised rain. That 50F at night sure feels cold 😄

Moi

Califo-nia

Mostly Blizzard Free and knows a mountain from a hill.

When Brown becomes Governor we get our "r" back.

But what about forest fires, rain and mud slides?

Simple,

Wipe out a hundred homes in Michigan and it is hardly news, who cares.

Seven homes slide down the mountain in Laguna Beach and it is news worthy for days and days.

Today, Laguna Beach made the NBC News again over water damage.

Califo-nia just gets better coverage then Michigan.

Is that simple enough?

:)

Moi, I know this will come as a shock to your system and its something that most Californians don't like to consider, its not about you.

You know when I lived in Calif, I like most born and raised there think that its the only place to live. NOT TRUE, Its not all about Calif, only in the minds of those of you who live there. The rest of us could really care less if it burns down in the summer of washes away in the winter or if it moves north, it just doesn't matter to us.

I am sure Mac agrees, he would not want to live anywhere but Mich, its a wonderful place, beautiful country, I almost moved there but moved next door instead, I look forward to the four seasons, the people are nicer, less full of themselves. However there is a saying around the country, California on the move, :D its sliding down the hills, moving north, etc.

Anyway, I understand more rain is in the forecast so keep posting so we will know that your OK and not washed away down the street.

Right, River,

That's why NBC News has its' third day of Califo-nia rain and flood coverage and second day of poor little (rich) Laguna Beach and consequences of the rain.

Moi is not the center of the universe

Califo-nia is the center of the universe

A world without California is unimaginable and would probably be quite boring.

Our plate is not submerging but sliding northward and upward.

Unless one chooses to live in a ski resort, we can only look eastward and wonder - 🙄 :D

Moi

When Water World happens, don't come to me when all Michigan and Wisconsin are under the expanded gulf of Mexico.

Does the internet still work when under 3 feet of mud or 3 feet of water?

Probably not in those ten homes in Laguna Beach, and a few scattered around the L.A. basin against the hills.

Y'See, we are dealing with very small numbers of persons effected. Made big because,

We are Califo-nia after all.

As many homes and business in any other State would hardly be News worthy. That's just the way it is.

I didn't tell the NBC News to play up those few businesses in Laguna Beach. I am sure more hardship was suffered in the frozen country, blizzarded as it was.

We have two Michigans, and Carolinas, Dakotas, Virginias, and a bunch of States as could be lumped together and no one would miss them.

But, Califo-nia is the "center" and I did not make it that way. I just happen to live here.

Hope that clears up the situation and the few Califo-nians who are so news worthy.

Moi

More rain coming, leftovers shipped eastward

Moi, I really hate to break this to you, but on NBC news the coverage of rain and mud slides in California was a 1 minute story and Laguna Beach was never mentioned, some other hill area was and sense I have never herd of it, it must be new within the last 25 years. Also the reports only said southern California, the only big city was San Diego which is about 4 hours from LA or if you drive 12. Last nights news they did not say anything about the weather in California but rather the problems in London, the storms hitting the east coast and our local weather.

Moi, the news you see is local, the news we see puts LA and area as a foot note. We get a lot more coverage of the twin cities then the west coast. Mac sees the news in his area and most likely knows whats going on in Detroit but has no clue whats happening in the twin cities. When you get to national news California is not a big story, London is a big story, storms on the east coast are a big story.

Right Mac?
