Well its official, ITS COLD OUTSIDE.

I was heading to the store this morning and besides it being in the low 30's (freezing) that snow/rain we got that Kristoff talked about froze my truck door shut. I had to go out with hot water in a watering can and break it loose, I got the truck started turned on the heat and came back inside for a cup while I wait, decided to write this too.

Hawaii in February.

The only good news about today is it stopped snowing/raining, now for the wind that is scheduled to blow for the rest of the week before it snows again.

The last 3 rain storms dissolved to nothing but they promise the "big one" Saturday. And a whole 1/2 inch. 🙄

But the temperatures did drop sufficiently that my low chill hour trees are earning some hours. How "chill" is 45F

Snow makers are working in the snow country but the orange growers worry.

kristoff wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2013 7:28 am Minnesota got heavy wet snow ranging from a couple of inches south to two feet up north. We got about 6 inches here in Minneapolis. Had to use the mongo sized snow blower to move the stuff - wet snow compacts and it gets hard to clean to the pavement - and I have a lot of pavement. Now we are embarking on a 10-14 day cold spell of temps in the low 5-10 below range at night, to 5-10 above days, if that. Paolo, when you going to move up here? We'd love to have you!

We're getting the ever-increasingly forecasted winter storm here. I hate snow. First it was 2", now it's a maximum of 7".

I fucking HATE winter.

Now I have battling morons on the job forecasting:

The local high powered weatherman has upped the snowfall an inch just because his model had a brain fart. It will all happen tomorrow morning.

The national weather forecast has backed down the inch and and changed the times of the cold front to late tomorrow.

Over Thanksgiving they predicted 3 to 4 inches of snow and I got one inch.

We have nearly 5" in the back yard. Seeing as how Snoopy has about 2" of ground clearance, this is a definite potty problem.

The 'shared custody' dump out dog has never seen snow before. The boys next door let him out at about 9AM, and he spent an hour snapping at the snow and barking at it.

At least it's not -4F like the report says it is at The Convent.

Funny, it's 23F here, AND at Jesus' place, too?!

So much for spending a winter there...

It is -5 at my house so I don't expect the temperature to rise above zero today even if the TV weather person says it will reach +4. It is just like Hawaii except not so humid. --FLO--

"Nice and clean and fresh and crisp" is 30, Flo is right, -5 is fucken cold, there is no nice about it.

So let it be known I am extending an invitation to Paolo to live in beautiful warm Hawaii in the winter months, it is always around 80deg, 'P' will only need one set of long johns and his hoody.

I just checked the temperatures here and at Paolo's place. While a couple of hours have elapsed, it's still only 24F there (with a predicted high of 27F today), it has already reached 43F here with a predicted high in the low 50s.

The night before last set a new record low for the date at 24F. Last night was a bit colder, so it should also have set a new record for the date.
