Everything works in my house except me. I could use someone to install a new kitchen faucet but I can afford to pay them.
I thought Social Security told me I was getting a Medicare card. What I received was a Medi-cal card instead. Is that better or worse?
That means that you are not the old wolf. You have a few more years till you make the magic age of 65.
Your worry now is if the state checks will bounce

I didn't plan on a long lasting thread. It began as a cry for help over a mother, dog, police problem and expanded exponentially.
"Expanded exponentially" - sort of like my waistline. --FLO--

Used to be I could see the screen with my glasses on. Not so lately, so I went for an eye exam. Seems my eyes have improved. So I ordered new specs.
Three pairs of new glasses:
1) General all-around glasses
2) Prescription sunglasses to halt the spread of my mini-cataracts
3) Glasses just for my computer
Total cost $551.00 as Medi-cal paid zilch.
On the plus side I can see

You got by cheap. That is about what I pay for one pair, and I still need the damned white cane...

I paid about $650 for two pair of glasses. A bifocal for general use and the other a reading for computer work. You're not alone.

Once you have the prescription you can go to a internet store and get glasses for under $100. May even get 2 pair.

This is a day of joy. I received three funny emails from Jesus and, at the push of a button, instantly deleted 1,356 spam messages.
