Has anyone tried swithing from DP to Androcur as Ramses is thinking of going? I use DP but my wife does not like the idea of shots.

I have switched was Androcur to DP at least 3 times over the last 2 years. Once I was at a castrated level from Androcur I tried DP to see if the level could be maintained in an effort to save some money and maybe my liver. I was taking 50mg a day of Androcur and went to 150mg of DP once a month. The DP worked great but every once in a while I will have the old urges comming back and that is when I go back on Androcur for 50 days. I have just ordered my Androcur as it has been 8 months since my last cycle.

On a side note my wife loves the new me, she has sex when she wants it with the use of a strap on and I leave her alone the rest of the time.

Dude, just as easily could have been me, so glad it seems to be working out for u.

If I were you though I would go slow on the Androcur just until you see how things pan out with your mrs. Unless you really KNOW where your T level is with the DP you don't want to go dumping Androcur in your system as well.

Androcur is powerful stuff and if you already have relatively T -levels then you don't want to nuke what is left, as soon as things go a little bit south with your wife, and they WILL because this is part of the healing process, then you will want to avoid being extra prone to depression, as in most relationships you will probably find 3 steps forward and 2 steps back, the 2 steps back can sometimes be hard to deal with.

Me I am off the Androcur entirely for now, and been so for about 6 weeks, I am just being taking finasteride (1mg) and I have found that following the androcur it is enough by itself to minimise or reduce my libido, not eliminate it. Interestingly I find my wife far more attractive, it seems to have reduced my wandering eyes...if anything

The combination of both HAS reduced my size down there, and I still barely have any ejaculate. But I can get hard and stay hard easy enough by using a cockring. I still do not get morning errections, save one in the last month I can remember.

Thanks for you input, cogman. Things are getting better for my wife but she still has some bad days where she dwells on it all day and it gets her down. I plan on taking it easy with the androcur and dont plan on exceeding 50mg/day. As soon as I feel any effects from it, I may cut down to 25mg/day. I also have a doctor appointment for a physical next friday. She will check lipids, liver function etc. I hope the DP hasnt made my LDL go up too much. I'm supposed to take Niacin for lipid issues but just couldnt deal with the side effects. She'll probably put me back on lipitor again. I just hope my triglycerides arnt over 900 again... (I think that was from a "cheesecake fest" the night before).

The doc visit went well and all blood tests came good except bad colesterol was a little to high so doc put me on Provacol. Triglycerides was only 135 which is pretty good. I started taking 50 mg/day of Androcur on 2-23-08 and just starting like I'm feeling some effect from it in the last day or two. I felt pretty lethargic today and it seems like my libido is a little lower. The hot/cold swings have subsided a bit lately. I hope it's not as much of a problem with the CA as with the DP.

Things with wife have been pretty good considering she found out about an affair I had 3 years ago. We are working through things but it will take a while to earn her trust back and for her to get the thoughts and images out of her head.

Ramses, I'm happy to hear that you and the wife are getting along. Has your now diminished sex drive helped her get over your past indiscretions? I would think that she could be more forgiving knowing that history won't repeat itself.

I ran out of androcur about two weeks ago and I can feel the libido surging. Starting to get morning erections if I have to pee but they are mild. I can tell my energy level is rising and I feel hungrier. Money was tight for a bit which caused the break in usage but i reordered 100 tabs of androcur today.

No real body changes to report except hair growth on chest and abdomen and arms has seemed thin and grow slower.

Things have been going well and my wife seems to be slowly getting over finding out about the affair I had. It just sucks that I work out of town during the week and the ex-girlfriend is near by. I have refrained from all contact since getting busted (1-21-08) with her and I am committed to making my marriage work.

I hear ya. Who would want to use horse estrogen anyway? Horses are like huge compared to us & that can't be good. lol Plus, it's cruel: http://www.findings.net/supremarin.html | http://www.rockisland.com/~castalia/premarin.html | http://www.islandnet.com/~luree/premarin.html

Animal rights is a definite candidate for the political forum down at the bottom of the list...where it belongs.
