Mac, good to see you.
Pele did change directions, it stopped 180 ft from crossing the Pahoa village road deviding the town in half, then started again up slope. Now its at the end of town and threatens to go right through the only shopping center we have. One can only hope that it stops again and goes a little north of where its heading. Time will tell.

What of your online connectivity?
What happens when social civility breaks down and the people of Pahoa become Northies and Southies
or Easties and Westies battling for the crumbs remaining or those airlifted and dropped for fear of air crews' lives.
Well I guess there is nothing to loot. The shelves are already bare with the panic driven hoarding.
Will the nights be unusually quiet as individuals, small groups forage their neighbors supplies
or will the sound of the drums resonate.
If you are detached from the World Wide Web, please keep records for our enjoyment.

If you listen to the video reports, the Malama Market closed tonight about 4 or 6pm. The gas station closed. The Ace Hardware closed.
All the smaller shops have closed. The hazards have been moved that there were no riots.
Clans of fighting Hawaiians and other residents have not formed to fight.
They simply sold everything or packed it up on a tractor trailer and hauled it away.
If you watch the videos there are emotional people but they aren't violent, sad mostly that their favorite store is gone or they lost their jobs, or the new store is 90 to 120 minutes or more away.

Moi once again is seeing doom and gloom were none exists. The people here are wonderful, supportive of each other and of the local businesses. It will create a hardship for many of us to travel into Kaaua or Hilo to get food but that is life. I do know this that Malama Market will be back, if not in there building in a new one, Ace will also be back under the same conditions. This is a growing alive community that will survive, and just as there were no riots in the streets as Moi figured back when there was a hurricane there will be none now. That only happens in the movies and in LA and the communities that are around it.

River, I have to chime in and say you're completely wrong. When something like this happens in LA, sharks fall out of the sky.

Moi, things break down when communications break down, that has never happened here, our Mayor is here every week leading the people which is what our leaders should do, the governor was here this last week and the President plans to be here next week, that is why there is not rioting in the street, the politicians are leading.
Note for those of you who don't know, the Mayor of Hawaii is the mayor of the whole island and he is an Iron Man.

Giant waves are predicted for Kohanaiki Beach Park.
That means that humongous green and very ugly sea creatures are going to land and eat the residents of Oahu.
