I will say this. In the course of my life, I have met a good many who call themselves 'Christian'. By far and away, most of them wouldn't cross the street to piss on you if you were on fire. That is, unless you were of the right background, dressed in the right clothes, and belonging to the right social clubs. Although, I wouldn't put it past some of them to toss on some kerosene while they lifted your wallet, all the while loudly exclaiming how they are saved, and you brought it all on yourself.

I've always said that were I to decide to become a Christian and go to church regularly, I'd have to experiment to find just the right church. That means dressing in my grubbiest clothes, not bathing in a few days, and generally trying to look like hell. Then I'd go in and attend services, to see how well I'm accepted. If the members look down on me, snub me, ask me to leave, whatever, then they have lost their way and are without God. The church that accepted me, even looking like that, would be the one I'd go to. Christ didn't hang out with the rich, or even the middle class. He hung out with the lowest of the low; the druggies, homeless and whores, because they're the ones who needed him the most. Any church I went to would have to believe in that.

That being said, to date I can count the number of True Christians I've met on one hand. People who actually practice what Christ preached in loving your neighbour, helping others, turning the other cheek, and never thinking ill of others. I'm proud to say that I've met Sag, and he is indeed one of these few. We may disagree on many issues, but he is still one of the best people I know. I would gladly help him in any way I could, and would defend him to the death if it were necessary.

Sag I hope one day to meet you. Many members whom I respect greatly have a great amount of respect for you. I would enjoy talking with you. My faith is a work in progress every day. I wake up each morning and set out to be the best person I can be. Sometimes I make it later in the day than on other days. I wish I was as steadfast in my faith as you. Other times I wish I could be as confident as others that there is no God. I have always felt a presence in my life so I am not able to deny God. I am just a flawed human trying each day and I do appreciate your prayers.

IEunuch, you are right, Christians have a we are better then you attitude. See its not the standard of God or Jesus that you must pass its Christians themselves.

I am right so anybody who does not believe as I do is the enemy. Turn on the TV to any channel on Sunday and watch any of them and you will find this to be true.

They will bash other Christian religions that are different then them, WHY you ask, because they have God on there side. The one thing that all Christians should be they are not, they don't forgive anybody for anything, lock those bad people away and throw away the key. They have a code that you must pass to enter among them, for in there eyes you are a sinner and they never forgive. They will point to the Bible mostly Old Testament to tell you why you are going to hell and there is not turning back, the Right Wing South is so Christian that the right to life is the most important thing in the world but if your BLACK you better not go into THERE church, why because they are not there kind of people and don't belong with them good Christians.

You see its not the Bible, God or Jesus that are so bad, its those who say that there Christian and only follow the parts of the Bible that are convenient but conveniently leave out the parts like forgiveness, helping the poor and sick, giving a meal to a hobo. You wont find them doing these things because there perfect and God is on there side.

In my life I have known only a few Christians, Sag is the first one I have met in years, OBB is another. My folks were, but then again they were poor. If a couple of Hobo's came to the door, mom would give them a couple of things to do, they had to wash there hands and face and they sat at the table with us as honored guests and family. Christians today that make themselves well known are anything but Christian and for most of us its just a click gone power hungry.

I don't have that faith that Sag has, nor do I want it, for Sag it works, for me it is just another book which may have some trues in it, tells some wonderful stories but sorry to say its out lived its purpose. You see the Bible and its teachings worked real good on people when the people were poor, could not read, etc. It was a way for the Church to control the masses. They always had the GOD card, they also believed that the world was flat and was the center of the universe. We know so much more today, wonderful things and the Church has not kept up with the times.

Earth was not created in 7 days, this is a story for the people of 3500 years ago. Now if we changed that it would read a bit different and up to date. EXAMPLE In the beginning God created the heavens and earth, he did this by clapping his hands causing a big bang, everything after that is still happening its still being created billions of years later. Billions and Billions of Galaxies each having trillions of starts, how magnificent, NOW that's a God I could get into. You got to look at the BIG picture.

If one reads the Bible and has this thing called faith and takes from it the spirit of the word that's one kind of Christian, he understands but most Christians use the Bible as a weapon to make there point of view and take the Bible literally, which is the totally wrong way to go. The reason is that science will prove this group wrong at every turn.

Today, if your a Republican running for office and the first thing out of your mouth as the most important issue better be right to life those good forgiving Christians will drop you like the heathen if you don't. Yep good Christians one and all.

Thank you Riverwind for the compliments. Another illustration I want to show is: You can't see the wind but you can see the effects of the wind. You can see the sand blow in a desert. You can see the snow blow here in the north in the winter. Same with God, you can't see him but we can see him effects in the wonderful creation he has created.

Thinking about the Bible for a moment. There are 66 books to the Bible. I look at it as a very short synopsis of what happened. 66 books is not evough room to give a detailed report of 6000 years+. So much is left to our imaginations. There is so much that we do not have all the answers for. But we will one day, when we get to heaven.

I have met several whom I feel to be True Christians on this site. Sag is certainly one of them. He's one of the finest people I have ever met, anywhere. Some others I have met who fall into the category of True Christian include OneBallBoi, Plix, Incuse, and TerryUK. I have only spoken with Randy Regular on the telephone, but I would tentatively include him in this category as well. I'm looking forward to meeting him in person soon.
