true--i got a copy of mine, gratis, from the state dept of veterans affairs in about 20 min--i'm astounded that the funeral home didn't know this--

The fly in this ointment is that she has to be interred in the same grave as her (late) husband in a veterans cemetary. --FLO--
Also, you could have a 2nd stone placed at the foot of the grave with her name and birth and death dates on it. Most cemetaries allow this.
Dad was buried in a private cemetary in Indiana. Mom would never have wanted to be near him comsidering my dad deserted my mom when I was two years old.
There is a bank about a mile from me where mom had a Certificate of Deposit for more than $1,000. I went there a few days after I received the Death Certificate to claim the money. At the time that bank informed me that I had to wait 40 days after mom's death to collect.
Today, I called that bank informing them it had been forty days. They said I had to come in and fill out a probate form which they will submit to their legal department. The process will take another week.

Why couldn't they have told you that and given you the form the first time?
I called a plumber to fix the stream of water coming out of my bathroom sink. He replaced the faucets, two connecting flexible metal tubes and put on two knobs down below at the water shutoff. Cost: $400
Is plumbing that expensive nowadays or did I get ripped off?
