You live in Southern California, why would you even need a heater, it never gets cold enough for one, Woos.

You know people in southern Calif put on parkas in the winter when it gets down to 50 deg.

People in Wisconsin put on long pants when it gets below 30 deg,

I never use my parka until its below zero.

As I said, Woos.

Oddly enough, being cold almost all the time, I can't sleep in a hot room.

Now, outside, I am fine with 90F+ heat and humidity.

Indoors, I'm OK with it, but when I lay down, it's like my body goes into furnace mode.

I get up and start moving around, I get cold again?

Good God,it's only +67F out there...

Two days ago, it was 97F with humidity!

Time for the hoodie over a good shirt, jeans, and the boots.

No one here getting deluged in all that Colorado area flooding ?

Another pleasant day, the nights get warmer with stale air. That is all due to change "dramatically" this Monday. The sun is setting just before 7 PM making for some darker nights, sooner.

The cats have been triple treated for fleas yet continue to scratch.

The Fuji apples are crisp and not so tart. There are three generations of fruit on the tree and the older two look alike. I look for a little yellow sheen to pick one or go for the dropped ones. Size is no way to judge.

The 1964 Lemon tree is really dying and so is one of two progeny I produced from its' seeds.

I will be down to one and it being started from a seed and not a graft has a root system of questionable longevity.

Repeat: No One is affected by the big storm in Colorado or any of those storms moving across country ?

I drove through a rather nasty thunderstorm yesterday but it wasn't big and after that there wasn't rain, not last night, or today. None predicted for a few days. Colorado seems to be getting it. It's the 1% storm - the once in a hundred years rainstorm, as they say at the weather bureau. Don't get too excited about that "1 in 100" stuff. It really does mean that in all of the recorded data, Colorado experience rain that heavy (that many inches of water) only once in a hundred years of observing... And a "1 in 500" year storm is one that has only been recorded once in 500 years. As we all know, 500 years isn't that long. We've had four of them since the Birth of Christ and Six or Eight 500 year periods since the pyramids were built. Julius Caesar is close to five 500 year periods back in time. George Washington not even one period.

Not that I minimize the destruction. That's truly terrible. They are suffering in Colorado.

It just seems that we are getting these 100 year and 500 year storm every couple of years, so is the model wrong or is someone not paying attention to facts? or?

Dear moi,

Generally, these are localized events caused by STALLED weather systems. This is NORMAL phenomena and it has historical precedence. Nothing unusual here except for me, perhaps...

A bit cool.

I put on my old sweater vest rather then turn on the heat because the air feels good.

YEA It is sweater weather.

Even some Oregon mist today.

Overcast and gray with grayer patches around.

My boysenberries look like they want to fruit out of season, bearing small green fruits and flowers now. My little, wild, scraggly loquat is putting out blossoms too. They are shaped like "candles".

The big loquat is not. I plan to observe some neighbor's trees.

Otherwise, Autumn progresses. But, that special "Autumn Smell" ain't there.
