Hi Caith,
Do you happen to know what equivelant Estrofem dosage would provide the same blood concentrations of Estodiol as does what I am presently taking (0.9mG Premarin x 1 per day)? The importance of that question arises out of the fact that it took years to finally zoom - in on a reasonable dose of Premarin (titration) and I would want not want to go through that process again. It would be great to just switch over and have the same effect from the get-go.
All the best,
Danielle
Hi Danielle!
Premarin is conjugated (mixed) estrogens and .9mG seems (to me, anyway) like a low dose. Estrofem is available in either 1 mG or 2mG dosages. Sub-lingual delivery provides approximately 80% efficacy, so taking a single 1mG tablet every day would provide you approximately .8mG of 17-beta estradiol, relatively close to your current dose of Premarin. If you find that to be a problem (too little Estrogen) you could take one 2mG tablet per day, or a 1mG tablet twice per day, delivering approximately 1.6mG of estradiol.
Of course, you could simply continue taking Premarin, especially if you're already pleased with your results. After all, it's your decision, and you're the person who has to stay satisfied.

Well it has been 5 months since I started the weekly injections (everclear), my right testee is the size of a large jelly bean with a hard core and the outer testee tissue feels like a empty ballon. My left is the size of a large egg with massive lumps and tender, I injected into my tubes be mistake and they are enlarged and swollen like a tree branch with a large plum hanging from it, (VERY painful when it happened). My body hair has decreased dramatically and a level of calmness is increasing. I only need to shave once a week where it was needed daily. I have noticed no neg. affects at this time and look forward to completing my transformation!!

Danielle,
I think your right about using one or the other hormones after castration, however, and I'm not sure, but I think I read about some eunuchs who use osteoporosis medications to ward off bone loss. Anyone?

soontobe,
I think it's time to see your doctor or a urologist. One never knows about these things and you don't want to take any unnecessary risks!

Yes. there are additional meds to keep bone density where it should be. I know another eunuch who doesn't take any hormone replacement but needs another med besides ordinary calcium to keep his bones dense. It is not my place to identify him; I only use him as an example. Usually there are several possible alternatives to treating a medical issue and that is certainly the case here. The main point is to have your doctor involved in this and stay on top of your bone density.

Hi Folks,
In the arena of alternative drugs to maintain bone health, I have seen commercial for something called Boniva that claims to do that (Sally Fields is the representative in that commercial - - - you may have seen it).
I know nothing about it, but it may be something to look into if you are a person who is castrated and is taking no E or T as an HRT regimine.

the result- and the process of being castrated.
" Do you mean that you went to a urologist and he/she removed your atrophied testicles? Can you give us more specif
ics about the turn of events that led to your castration?
I think that while the term "castrated" can refer to someone who has had his testicles physically removed, it can also mean in a larger sense that they have stopped functioning. If one does enough alcohol injections and one's testosterone level decreases to castrate levels, then one is castrated, even if he is still intact, with non-functioning testicles. The question should be what is one's testosterone level to determine if one is "fully castrated", which is a misnomer. Either one is or one is not castrated. I'm not sure that there is a consensus in the medical community as to what the castrate level is. Is it 100, 70, 50 or 30? If someone who was castrated takes HRT to increase his level of testosterone to normal levels, he is technically not castrated any longer because he can function fully as a normal male, with a regular libido. He would only be ball-less or have athropied testicles, and be sterile. It would be the same if someone who is chemically castrated stops. He no longer is castrated as his testicles are now functioning, producing testosterone, and he has all the attributes of a normal male once again.

Fully disagree with your last conclusions. I AM "fully" castrated - my nuts are gone. I use HRT and maintain a level of ~550 ng/dl ("normal"), and I can assure you my nuts are still gone, and I AM still castrated, I am still an eunuch. If you still have testicles but they are non-functional, around here we refer to them as castrated. However, they technically would be androgren deprived.

If you have non-functioning testicles (nonamesplease), the correct term is: HYPOGONADISM, if you do not have testicles (atrophy doesn't count) then your castrated, just like Kristoff said!:D
