Docs: (Obama) Justice Department facilitated anti-Zimmerman protests

http://dailycaller.com/2013/07/10/doj-p ... -protests/

A division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) was deployed to Sanford, Florida in 2012 to provide assistance for anti-George Zimmerman protests, including a rally headlined by activist Al Sharpton, according to newly released documents.

The Community Relations Service (CRS), a unit of DOJ, reported expenses related to its deployment in Sanford to help manage protests between March and April 2012, according to documents obtained by the watchdog group Judicial Watch.

CRS spent $674.14 between March 25-27 related to having been “deployed to Sanford, FL, to work marches, demonstrations, and rallies related to the shooting and death of an African-American teen by a neighborhood watch captain.” CRS spent another $1,142.84 for the same purpose between March 25-28.

CRS expenditures related to the anti-Zimmerman protests continued through mid-April. Between April 11 and April 12, CRS spent $552.35 “to provide technical assistance for the preparation of possible marches and rallies related to the fatal shooting of a 17 year old African American male.”

A Department of Justice spokesperson said that she did not know off the top of her head what CRS’ role was in the anti-Zimmerman protests but is currently trying to figure out that answer. The Daily Caller will update this story upon receiving a statement from DOJ.

UPDATE:

DOJ spokesperson Dena Iverson emailed a statement to The Daily Caller, saying, ”The Community Relations Service was in Florida as part of their mandated mission,

The expenditures speak for themselves.

Don't like this source, Google: Obama Zimmerman Protest - pages of returns.

Al Sharpton and company were there too.

Wanna know if this is fair? Reverse the roles. What would society have done if Travon had shot George in "self defense" while "standing his ground"?

I can see the headlines now, "Black juvenile "EXECUTES" member of a "neighborhood watch" organization...

...and gets "life" in prison...? ...he should have gotten "death", but those damned LIBERALS will not let us execute a juvenile, no matter how irredeemable he is...

over the top.

Sorry River, but I see it a POETIC JUSTICE when conservatives choke on their own shit...

a few things:

a) the Zimmerman trial belongs in POLITICS.

b) Anyone who doesn't know Al Sharpton's political views has been in a coma for 50 years.

c) Tucker Carlson (IMHO and not so humble opinion) is a spoiled, rich-boy hack at this commentary stuff. His idol is the dead ghost of Andrew Breitbart who made a reputation on lies, doctored videos and bombast. He only ass-kisses the radical right wing nutcases because the rest of the world has figured out what a waste of breath he is. If there weren't a half dozen to ten websites that repeat the latest "bright shiny object" that the Right Wing nutcases spew out of their asses on a daily basis, Tucker Carlson would starve. He blew it as a legit journalist, he blew it as a TV commentator, and he has discovered life as a web-tastic hack. When that fails, his next job will be "telephone sanitizer" or "toiler bowl cleaner" ... He's well qualified for those two jobs.

d) all of those expenses and actions by the DOJ were published last year. They made no secret of their actions or their intentions or their duty to step into the 2012 incident. I heard it first in the local newspapers (Pittsburgh Post Gazette and Greensburg Tribune Review) a year ago.

Remember the same wedge of "public outcry" on this episode.

I remember. And it was no discredit to the same faces who "coal stoke" at each such event.

Al, Jesse, the whole gang of professional, "Not Color Blind, Color Blind" agitators with archaic equal rights claims.

And this topic initiated with the revelation that you heard it at EA first that

Holder/ Obama are spending our tax money on aiding anti Zimmerman rallies.

We aren't talking about "procedures", but street demonstrations !

Got Justice ?

From everything I've read what we have here is a case of revenge not justice. When the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons show up, you can bet someone, innocent or guilty, is in for a trumped up civil rights battle during which it becomes increasingly puzzling just whose rights are being battered. I watched the mayor, the police chief and the head of the riot squad in a public servicd announcement encourage the populace of that place to wave their hands not their weapons. Clearly, everyone is braced for a bad time no matter what the verdict as, clearly, whatever happens, the verdict will not be regarded as correct. Having watched this Southern Version of a Kangaroo Court it seems fairly obvious that Zimmerman was attacked and would seem to have been defending himself. Also, from evidence the court would not allow to be admitted, it's equally obvious that Martin wasn't this all African American, aw shucks good kid he's portrayed as being'; Far from it. This is a lose/lose situation that will only make a tense situation worse...

Given Mr. Zimmerman's fate, it is rather surprizing that Jesse and Al haven't swooped down on Savannah to demand Paula Deen be arrested on charges of beating the slaves in her putative cotton fields.

And if George had stayed in his car like the police told him that child would still be alive, everything that happened after George got out of the car was George's fault, bottom line, he killed a child.

As for bringing up his record that is just BS. no lets spell it out Bull Shit. Martin was not on trial, he was shot dead at point blank range.

Sort of like shooting a 17 year old doing a "ground and pound" on you is Child Abuse.

Plenty of manure to go around. An unfortunate incident by two individuals who "profiled" each other.

There is no one in the right here. But, is there a crime?

Did the prosecution have a case beyond a reasonable doubt? That is the issue and burden of proof.

DEAR 👥 All, the Everything Trayvon thread did not make it in politicals. I tried.

Perhaps you have no experience with being personally threatened and in fear of your life. In 1965 I was in Grad school at USC when the Watts Riots became an unscheduled on campus event of some proportion. Having an angry black man stick a gun in your face and pulling the trigger-he missed but it was a closely run thing-has a transformative effect on one. You might argue that I was from South Africa and predisposed to be anti-black men with guns in my face and, who knows, that might have some modest traction but in over seven decades, I've not seen much to change my opinion of racism of whatever stripe or colour. Last year, after a tornado blew down my home, I had black looters within thirty minutes-the police said, "Sure, go ahead and shoot". That I didn't is because I did not want the bother and expense of the court case this might have produced. And what interesting public examples...Kwame Fitzpatrick and his group are of ongoing fascination to me. And the list is without end. Does that sound prejudiced? Well, prejudice is nothing more than an elevated form of snobbism which, at base, is the right and privilege of selecting what one prefers or dislikes. You do not have to be correct in those selections but the choice is one's own. When I was in the service, (BSAP) I worked containing (that was the official word for killing) poachers BUT please do remember they were almost better armed than were we. I wasn't and do claim to be a "nice" person by the standards of some but I'm an old man, a blunt old man who has had a variety of experiences, of which castration was only a very minor one. In the words of that philosopher of the early Twentieth Century and also my former neighbor, Mae West, "I've done people and been things". I think that's succinct.

So when Sanford, Florida becomes yet another battle ground enjoy the sight; Aren't we fortunate that we can "embed" the media with every one on all sides. (It does make one wonder what might have happened if, during WWII, CBS, ABC, NBC et al had "correspondents" with everyone's troops everywhere. On all sides: The ones with the Germans could have televised the landings on D-Day. What would they have said, "Well, folks, it still dark here but UberMeister Glockenspiel has just told me that they're aware of ships approaching here on this outcropping of a lonely place in Normandy. As you'll remember, yesterday a person who spoke on terms of confidentiality, revealed that Berlin believed this possible invasion would take place further East and moved their troop.....wait a minute, Bill, flip that camera up, I believe I just saw a plane towing three gliders..." etc. )

We all have prejudices and it's only the uninformed who believe they do not; Members, certainly, of the Church of Simon Purity, Jimmy Swaggart, Rector. I know I'm prejudiced about a variety of things, most of them uninteresting. But as George H.W. Bush publicly said, "I'm the President and I don't have to like Broccoli." Brave words, Sir, Brave words. The Congress of Persons for the Eradication of Those Opposed To Broccoli will protest, Barbara will be forced to publicly make Hollandaise sauce and admit it was served, with broccoli, to the President of UppaUppa Nowhere at a State Dinner. So never reveal your prejudices, you'll just annoy someone else...although that can be amusing. Hasta...
