The nursing home just called to tell me they were shipping

for pneumonia. This is her 5th pneumonia episode in two years.

I'll walk up and see her tomorrow as it's only a mile away.

I just noticed I would run out of Paxil before my next doctor's appointment on January 9th. I have 19 pills left.

Anyone know if Paxil would still be effective if I rationed them at one every other day? Just curious

A nurse called from St. Bernadines' Hospital asking me for permission to set mom up surgery to install a pacemaker.

I adamantly said, "NO."

Mom is 93, in a frail condition and has no quality of life in that nursing home.

The only quality of life the doctors are looking at is how to fill their pockets with $$$$$$.

Good day so far:

I picked up an application for Food Stamps.

I found a Food Bank which I can go to twice a week. Good thing to as I was down to a bag of potatoes and one buck.

The Food Bank gave me two loaves of bread, a pack of salami, cherrios, a bag of rice, vegetable soup, grape juice and popcorn. Not half bad

Darn, they forgot my gin. It is the opiate of the masses ya know

There are days I wish I was wealthy like UncleFlo

I was offline for 35 hours because the batteries in my keyboard died screaming. When I obtained the cordless mouse and keyboard, I went out and bought packs of AA batteries that fit the mouse and the TV remote.

I forgot the keyboard uses AAA.

All better now.

P.S. Yay, it's payday and I have food.

In case you missed any TV because of battery swapping, you might want to know about this Public Service Announcement that comes up, so to speak, from time to time:

I was almost worried myself for a second because I misheard the notice. I thought they had said four minutes.

On a side note, I asked my new Chinese MD about her opinion on Cialis and whether the new once a day version was better than the 36-hour version I use sometimes. She apparently does not watch a lot of TV, and seriously asked me (with a real or apparent look of lust), "you mean it lasts for 36 hours?"
