Because you don't like snow even worse than heat.
{I'm just guessing}

Actually, I've never lived where it snowed

At 80 I'm camped in front of air conditioner panting. Can't imagine 109 let alone Las Vegas' 120. (though oddly enough I don't really feel the heat in the kitchen)

I'm out trying to pull some weeds, it's sunny and 72F, and I get about six feet done and the heavens open up on me. COLD rain! Every day, it seems. Funny, last year we couldn't even get dew at night. By this time, everything had burned up.

Sunday is suppose to be the peak day for the "Heat"
the extreme heat affecting California. This time I seemed
to live in one of the "cool" pockets of air left. 74F. Even heavy fog at night.
Today, the wind is blowing. Blowing from the South and knocking ripe
peaches to the ground. Thankfully, not overly tropically humid.
Hazy high white clouds block the direct sun. Not Moi's usual heat which is associated
with dry, spark the cats' fur, Santa Ana winds.
I think I need to harvest my white onions, the tops are turning brown.
I will try for a second crop if I can get motivated in Paradise.
Upon wrapping this upload up, the hazy, high white clouds have started to turn gray.

Everyone's Got Weather,
and not their same ole, same ole it seems

If you live in paradise like you say, you would not need and A/C and you really don't, nor would you need a heating blanket for your bed in the winter, which you don't. You must live in southern California the land of the woos.
