It made it up to 80F today.
Stormed last night, with hail, wind, lightning, and all the drama. Again early this morning. Again tonight. As with the night before.
The lightning was very odd; it was orange/red.
Even out in the country, cloudy, storming of course, with no nearby lights, it was not dark outside - and this was well after midnight. I could clearly see the white garage and across the neighbors' yard.
Small BB sized, hail, though. No damage. A LOT of rain, too.
Friday, it's back to the 50's again for a week or so.
This spring so far has sucked.
Well, Ma Nature is breaking the drought, no?

I wonder
What mankind did to provoke such a weather change from the last few years of Global Warming.
My Loquats have ripened as early as late January. This year they did not ripen until mid April, now. Yum!
The barometer jumped 0.2" higher with Santa Ana winds. The cat's fur sparks when pet. Poor me. Poor cat.
I watered heavy with some of that thar imported water I git.
Our alleged rainy season ends in May. I do believe we have passed the 3" mark, down 12" from a normal year and down 30" from a glorious year. It seems all our non event storms really powered up as they moved East.
Next year will be a rainy year (dibs!) for the southern Pacific Coast. <pray>

More rain, wind, and the possibility of a near-or-freeze tomorrow night.
All we need now is more hail, which is probably coming soon.
Can we possibly move this freezing/wet slushball of a planet a few million miles closer to the sun?
Or better yet, has NASA found a suitably desert-like planet with all the money they blow on looking for such worthless things? Something perhaps orbiting a white supergiant at about, oh, 5 miles?

Nasty Santa Ana winds continued with low humidity and a warm up.
Suppose to be 80F at the beach.
17 y o Old Fat Black Kitty stays outside for less time on these windy days.
Some humidity beyond parched, that is good humidity, is due in late Friday.

BTW I noticed Chicago got more rain in a few hours then I got all year.
I hope for Uncle Flo's sake they divert their extra water to the ole Mrs. Sip.

Last night, it rained again.
I had the dogs out in the lower field, which was underwater in the middle due to the waterway that is grassy, the overspill from the pond across the road. There were ducks swimming in the field. They took off, landed in the creek, and were promptly carried away at a good clip! We stood there and watched the water coming up and up and up. Pretty soon, the field was a lake from the backup at the east end. And it just kept coming up.
Of course, it's not like the flood of 2008, which I am sure A-1 remembers well.

It is FROSTING again tonight, for the 2nd night in a row... DAMNED weather! 2008. I remember. It missed my place...

Its now April 21, 4 full weeks into spring and its snowing again.
I just looked at the weather forecast and it will be snowing until Wednesday, April 24th. then we will get spring, 60f from then on, at least that is what the weather man says, me I only know what I see, and all I see is snow.

Take comfort my friend. I've seen it snow in late August - in far northern Canada. Gives one pause to appreciate snow in April, the fucking shit.
