Androgel worked great for me, except I've found I liked the low T so I stopped taking it.

I had the same experience of severe chemical burns with Androderm. My doctor and I never did figure out what the exact cause was. I switched to Androgel and have had no problems with it for 5 years. Individual differences, what makes the world go round.

There can be difficulties with someone who has had very low testosterone levels, (in the female range) for a long time going on HRT at normal male levels. You can have what seems to be an allergic reaction to testosterone. That causes a different problem, however, you swell up like a balloon and get hospitalized. Then the doctors get smart and bring up your level slowly.

I have testogel from besins pharma and it says in the included note, that it can cause skin reactions due to the alcohol in the gel, it dries the skin out. In severe cases one may have to change products. I have never had probs.

while i was on the patch for HRT i also had a circle burn type rash that would remain for a month after cycling the patch else where on my body. i became so discomforted by having these marks all around my stomach and back that my doctor changed me back to an oral intake.

I had a similar experience on Androderm patches a few years ago - really irritated where medication/adhesive met - while not extremely bad it was so annoying I simply stopped using them. T was back to normal by then anyway.
