From what I have read, global warming is one degree increase per one hundred years. You will not live long enough to feel the difference.

Yes it is normal. Generally, this area gets about 1-2 weeks of bitter cold this time of year. The mid-January deep freeze. The worst I've seen was in 1995, when the metro area was -40 at night with wind chills of -90 degrees F. Northern Minnesota was about 20 degrees colder. Given the difference, maybe there is some global warming at work.

We're sorry River that you weren't notified. The U.S. Geological Survey made a deal with Canada and moved Wisconson to the edge of the Arctic Circle. They didn't think you'd notice the slight temperature difference.

Gunnison, Colorado almost hit minus forty degrees the other night and I believe Alamosa, Colorado (as in "a la mare que 'ta fri-iosa") may be heading for another winter season of having none of their days as having ever warmed up above the freezing mark. No thaw there.

Oh yeah, I probably should have translated the above: "Mother of God. How frozen it is." --Or something like that. Alamosa actually refers to scrub oaks.
